I always worry when the incident seems "minor"..that is always when there is major damage.

Yep, the less pain they feel generally the worse the injury is, as it damages their nerves; so it can't send the message to the brain.

In games where Lockyer has gone down this year, the Broncos have failed FLAT OUT to score points (Re: V Sharks and Dragons). IF they can fix that, they're still a show, but that's the rather BIG challenge. If they're fair dinkum, they'll put Hunt at 5/8 and hope. If they go with Berrigan or Perry then they're consigned to not winning the comp this year. Simple.

Gone for the season, confirmed on Fox TV.

Bad luck Broncos fans, he's been in super form, on fire....terrible news to lose the best player in the comp.

This season I can cop on the chin but the real concern for me is next year. Lockyer has always been a great runner of the football, we've all seen how ginger players come back from a knee reconstruction, some never being the same again. Let's hope he pulls through and comes back just as strong next year.

Will be very interesting - first knee injury, at 30 - no way of knowing how he will come back. He is VERY tough, but his playing strength is his free-flowing-running... will that return?

Ahh f**k it.
Only positive i can see come out of it is seeing how the team responds as a whole.
Looking at Hunt especially

True. Does Hunt have the character? He has the talent, but hasn't been under pressure with Locky in the side...

Still a pulse Stranger, still a pulse...but ever so faint.
And yes, i know now how Knights fans have felt 2002/3/4

As previously pointed out - the current season is easier to give away than next. Joey wasn't the same after he started getting injured. He was still great, but didn't have the consistency.

TBH, i would like to see the Broncos win the comp minus Lockyer. That would definately be something.

Nah. I don't like seeing the bronco's win WITH lockyer... Besides they already lost tate - it was all over then anyway.... :)

Bad luck for the Bronc's, just when they we're hitting form too. Nobody likes seeing great player's out injured especially someone as good as Locky.

Hunt is a natural leader. Will he magically tranform our season..well no, I am not expecting miracles. However with him at 6, at least it gives us a CHANCE! He'll be playing like a fullback, but mind you so was Lockyer most of the time he has been at 5/8 anyway. So it could work. Denan Kemp is a damn good prospect at fullback and we get Hodges back in 2-3 weeks. All is not lost.

Let's hope they select Sunshine for the game then :D

Sunshine is busy with his current modelling shoot hiney. He would have to unfortunately decline.

Bullshyte.
It is hard to give this season away...i dont care about 2008.
Not saying the Broncos were going to win it all this yr, but they had a good shot at it.
