The Prelim Final, however, was a game where we played very well - and the fact the Dragons still managed to grab the win is proof how good they were on the day. Very few teams could have pipped the Tigers that night, but the Dragons did.
That was 12 months ago and this year they're going the long way round and have to get through Brisbane, then Manly and probably the Storm to go back to back. If they manage it, they'll be an even better team than last year in my opinion, despite the cattle they've lost since 2010.
I'm pleased with the year as a whole considering our injuries in the outside backs and disappointed as all get out that the ride ends here.
That being said - even though many are sticking the boot into Marshall, Farah and Lawrence, they should stop and ask themselves (after objectively assessing them as the quality players they are) if they'd want players of this calibre in their team.
I sure as hell am glad we do, along with Ellis, Heigho, Fulton, Galloway Ayshford, (hopefully Dwyer) and good juniors coming through.
2012 holds much promise. I hope the rest of the semis are quality games.
