So with all the hysteria of culling players etc. having died down. I for one reckon we've finished in a stronger position. Most people here were very negative throughout the whole process, me included. And no doubt it could have been handled better. But really is there any good way to handle a cleanout?
Losses:
Fifita - Fat, side-ways running prick with no motor. I'll be absolutely spewing if he plays anymore first grade this year. More than happy with Woods/Groat/Begovich.
Gibbs - I actually think Gibbs is in career best form. At his age, just coming into his prime for a front rower. Not happy with losing him at all.
Motzen - Probably the most spineless bloke to ever pull on a Tigers jersey. Has some skill and if utilised as a half may have a future. But Sheens obviously doesn't see him there and he simply doesn't have the ticker to play fulllback. Good riddance.
Mckinnon - Nuff said.
Gains
Blair - Has had a reasonably quiet year. But without doubt I believe this will be an outstanding signing. Super tough and durable. Never misses games, plays 80. Best wrestler in the game, something we sorely lack. The thought of him and Ellis in the backrow together gives me wood.
Reddy - Could be an inspired choice. I know he's been out for the year with his pec injury, but aside from that also very durable. Tall, safe and a good finisher, something we lack. Fullback, wing and centre option.
Bell - The least hyped signing but I'm really excited about it. We need a meat and potatoes prop to pump out 120 plus metres a game with no fuss. And after watching him against Manly last week, looks to have a handy offload as well.
I've often bagged the Tigers administration but credit where credit's due, I reckon they've done well. In my opinion Gibbs is the only real loss for us. And who knows there might still be more signings.
