Lower Grades Report

Flegg lost 18-0. Roosters were too dominant. No one really stood out IMO either. Poor performance.

Reggies lost 26-12, or something similar, I can't exactly remember.

Jermaine Ale scored our only 3 tries. He was impressive.

Raston had a great performance. How he could be playing Reggies and Cross and Robertson waste spots on the bench is beyond me. Jason Williams again had a strong performance. He is probably the most unfit footballer I've ever seen, but damn, he's a giant of a man. If he can get fit he's the type of front rower we need in FG.

Tyran Smith didn't play PL, for whatever reason.

William Zillman played fullback, and was a star. He had one electrifying length of the field run after regathering a Roosters kick that would have been a try, but the ref ruled that a Roosters player was taken out earlier so he was robbed of a try.

Now, Carney.

He has massive problems. It was probably the worst performance of any player this year, and I don't think that's an understatement.

-He missed 3 goals (granted, they were near the sideline)
-He kicked out on the full... twice.
-He was flattened a couple of times.
-He found the fullback with ease when kicking.

Basically, he had a shocker. Dobson took control in the second half and played better than Carney.

I'm glad he didn't play FG, because he would've got killed. He is playing with no confidence whatsoever, and on form alone he doesn't deserve to be anywhere near FG. I'm starting to agree that his confidence has been belted by Elliot, but then on the other hand, he did start two matches and he has had time to impress, but he hasn't really done that either.

Either way, he needs to do something to get out of this.

The thing is what Elliot says and what Elliot does are two different things. He said he would pick players on form. Bullshi*t!! Ale and Raston have been killing it yet Elliot persists with Robbo. Smith and co

Carney is extremely low on confidence, Elliott made a good decision not to play him in firsts. Jermaine Ale and Raston are surely close to a first grade call up.

Jermaine Ale is a wonderful try scorer.
I remember him scoring a triple for Newcastle Flegg side in 2002 that was one of the most impressive triple try efforts I've ever seen.
Each try was a solo try from about 30 or 40 metres out and he scattered guys like nine pins on his way to the line. In the end they had two forwards playing on his wing trying to stop him and he was still scattering them.
Last year was his third year in Flegg because they put the age up a year in 2003 - and he was the top tryscorer in the whole comp for Easts.
I love that he lists bodybuilding as his interest outside footy.
