Some of them are not only NOT among the best, they're not even good.
Vinnie Calouta should be the list, no one here is in his leagueHevyDevy said:Dave Grohl and Lars for a start.
Grohl is obvious - he's just not anything special at all.
Lars - I love early Metallica but it's certainly not because of Lars. He's okay but he doesn't do anything stunning. More recently he has degenerated into being quite bad.
The best on that list are Lombardo and Danny Carey who are both brilliant and of course Bonham.
But even then they're not Vinnie Colauita or Dave Weckl or Carter Beauford or Dennis Chambers etc

I have always been a fan of Bonham though, Lars is not the best, but I love Metallica and want to be him

Seriously Funky, as far as drummers go there are an elite group that very clearly stand above the rest and no, Chad and Joey don't belong on it.
Joey at least has some speed but that means nothing. Hellhammer wipes his arse with speed anyway.
And Vinnie Colauita wipes everyone else anyway.
Now, the list could very easily be 10 jazz drummers but just to be fair and incorporate all genres, here's what the list should be:
Vinnie Colauita
Carter Beauford
Mike Portnoy
Terry Bozzio
Danny Carey
Dennis Chambers
Dave Weckl
Hellhammer
Dave Lombardo
Chad Wackerman
Stewart Copeland
John Bonham
Manu Katche
Gene Hoglan
etc, etc
There are so many more that should be there but I don't want to get too abstract with them.
