It’s only a moot point coz he’s currently under contract but if he were to leave there’s no doubt a savvy CEO can do a lot better with 1.2m.
Talk is cheap & has zero substance. If he’s so inclined to remaining at Concord & intent on being the leader he proposes to want to be & help turn this train wreck around then why doesn’t he put a line through the get out clauses. He reeks of insincerity with his crap talk & the only reason he stays is no other club being dumb enough to pay the ridiculous money we paid for the over-rated under delivering blowhard.
You have to be kidding, he's in the top echelon of 5/8 the game has produced.
He can't win games on his own, no one can.
But I think his work with Latu will show this much better.
His work behind the scenes though is where his strength is ATM
The only thing that will probably make him leave early is, if they punt Benji.

Spent on who?
I think it's a mute point, he will be staying, he has basically said that.
Spent on retaining who we want to extend and buy someone else who are not on overs. The Roosters have a plethora of halves with more returning.

If Luia stays and really digs in then he deserves all the accolades and our support. If he goes, then it's the opposite.
Keep winning hey Tm, fixes everything.

Yep and I don't want to be bad on Mason, but it will never happen with that type of talent.

It's not worth worrying about in my opinion. If stays, we've paid for him. If he goes we'll have a war chest.

I disagree. I think there are so few elite players in the comp and he is one of them.

You have to be kidding, he's in the top echelon of 5/8 the game has produced.

Agreed. He doesn't have the general kicking game of Cleary but he has a real good kicking game. He can create tries as good as any half in the comp and maybe better. He is an elite player right now.

I think Benji stuffed up because he was so into Galvin. I think Luai downplayed his game at the start of the season and it was the wrong option at that time.

We can still turn this season around but it's going to be tough.

His work behind the scenes though is where his strength is ATM

I completely disagree. I think he is great for the club. My youngest son goes to school in the area and he said they saw Luai and Luai waved at all of them. I also think he does a lot of good stuff in relation to supporting the club. So you aren't wrong in that his off field stuff is great..

At the same I disagree. His value to us comes from winning us games and I think the comp. I think he can be a key player leading us to a premiership.

I think Latu, Api and Bula or Turuva give us a top tier spine. I think our pack is really good. I think we need an upgrade on an edge back row position but I'm hopeful KPP gives us that.

Our outside backs are great and we have depth.

I couldn’t give a fig re whatever he apparently does behind the scenes coz it’s how he performs on the field that matters the most & he has been quite underwhelming.

Disagree with what Tiger. I didn't say Luai is not a top shelf half, that would be a dumb thing to say.
My point is simple, don't stress over it.
Until Luai can make a huge impact and win those close games for us then I'm not going to give him all the accolades..As soon as Api got here here made a difference and that's why I want him.
However, imo, the most important thing right now is to ensure we keep the best players and work on the roster overall.
Of course that means keeping Luai but I don't like to be bullied. Luai was given an insane contract but we allowed dumb contract conditions.
If he's not happy with that then he can go....that's our policy isn't it, or is that just another throwaway line to cover things up.

He came to us from the best club team this century with a reputation as an elite player however he hasn’t performed consistently at an elite level for us.Cant reinforce strongly enough what u said that his value to us comes from performance on field winning us games & leading us to the promised land. The off field stuff pales into insignificance

He can’t hold a candle to the top echelon of 5/8’s to have played the game in particular Kenny Daley & Fittler

Agree.
Luai is a victim of the modern ½-⅝..
Back in Kenny and Fitler's day they were specialist running backs. Great sidesteps, swerves they ran great lines too.
This structure of the backline is what I played in. It is different to these days.
I don't think Luai has a powerful running game as Brad and Brett, throw in Daley as well.
Luai is a stop start, jinking ⅝. He too doesn't run direct, instead, when he runs out of options he often runs in circles. He needs a good half and Clearey was a perfect foil.
Latu straightens the attack and gives quick service so Luai should benefit from this. Latu needs a kicking game to fully support Luai.
We have to take the beer goggles off and wait and see how it all pans out before we give him God status. He's just started with us.

I'm not stressed but I don't think it's easy to replace a player of Luai's quality. That is the issue. I don't think you can just go to market and get one of those players.
