I just had a mental image of Mr.Bean with some Y-Fronts over his head and covering his face.
Thats way too disturbing, I'm going.

I honestly hope that the spare cash we have in the cap is used for the transfer fee for Tom Briscoe.

I know transfer fee's dont count towards salary cap, but i dont see us having the cash to sign Inu/Burt/Jesus during the season and having a spare 300k around to pay the fee.

We are apparently under the cap before Albert got sacked, so I would put the money towards a proper investment than a makeshif fullback for a year.

Just my thoughts.

I'm not entirely sure that can be done. I'm not entirely sure on the numbers I will use in this post either but here goes.

The NRL Grant to clubs is $4 million to my understanding. The SC is currently $4.4 million.

That puts a club like the Sharks $400k behind already and may be why the cap doesn't get spent at the Sharks. That $400k is money the club has to find itself if it wants to work to the $4.4mill of the cap. Right?

I reckon The Sharks work on a self imposed $4 million cap because then they can just use the NRL grant and not worry about looking for the $400k extra.

Got me beat how they can find a transfer fee for Briscoe.

Maybe, based on that system Frenz, no Kelly means we're currently spending 3.8.... assuming we went all the way up to 4. The club was saying we had space for one more back? Could potentially be 3.6

Is tom briscoe worth a transfer fee? Good player but not world class like uate etc. Is a winger going to make the difference for our team.

300 grand is 300 grand.

Whether it's part of the salary cap or not, it's money we don't have.

Thanks

Sums up what I was getting at.

I like Briscoe, he's a star but TBH a UK player needs to be a Super Dooper Mega Star to be worth this transfer fee rot whether that fee is $300 or $300k

Besides, I reckon Burt will be wearing No 1 for the Sharks when they next run out

Speaking of ESL players- saw a few minutes of a game last week and a kid called Dan Sarginson, 18 year old centre playing with London put on the best in and away I have seen since Sludge.

Only saw a few minutes but the acceleration, balance and timing were there for that try. No idea if he can play at NRL level but keep an eye out
