there was an article intodays Gold Coast Bulletin on him and how Smith said he has 60 minutes to prove himself (referring to the trial game against the Sharks if he performs well he will be named in the trial verse the Warriors and if goes well in that game, he should make the 25 full time squad.

So he has three quaters of footy verse the sharks to prove he belongs in the nrl.

His a Tweed Heads Seagulls junior and he will come off the bench. aged 21 hes just completed 5 weeks of intensive training with the eels full time squad.

he will play 2 quarters verse the sharks one at centre and one at lock which is hes preferred position.

so i say we all suport this fella and when he takes the feild break out in chant of O.D, O.D, O,D. for O'dwyer. :D

60minutes to prove 21years worth of hard work sounds a bit harsh, but i'll be cheering for him from Sydney!! Go OD!

Doesn't mean his not guarenteed a part time contract. He must be good if the kid is considered for a spot in the top 25.

Thats a lot of pressure to put on a kid either way

he might have a bad game and then miss out on a spot when he deserves it or it could go the other way and he has a blinder which proves difficult to repete.

Good luck to the kid giving him 60 mins to earn a contract I can see merit to but 60 mins to make the top 25 is a bit harsh both ways.

I'll keep and eye on him for you, and let you know how he goes.

Gotta love the local lads.

If he makes it in he will be the first player through to the Eels from thte new feeder club, Tweed Heads Seagulls.
