WWE Ring the Changes
In light of one of the worst years in the WWE's history, WWE management have begun to make changes in preparation for the New Year. Sources close to Vince McMahon have stated that he has become increasingly dissatisfied with the quality of product his company has been putting out - and wants to shake things up like he did in the late nineties with the dawn of the much lauded Attitude Era.

The writing team has been substantially changed, this reporter can reveal. Whilst Stephanie McMahon retains her position on the team - she will be joined by Eric Bischoff, Paul Heyman, Dusty Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase. This broader, more talented writing team is expected to achieve far greater things that the more Hollywood themed group that has been writing in recent years.

Survivor Series Results
For those who missed the Survivor Series, you missed what many are calling the last PPV in an era best forgotten. A quick run-down of results can be found below:

Randy Orton def Batista (c) with help from Cowboy Bob Orton to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion

John Cena (c) defeated Kurt Angle by DQ to remain WWE Champion

Booker T © defeated Chris Benoit with help from Sharmell to retain the WWE United States championship

Eric Bischoff defeated Teddy Long. During the match we saw a run in from Vader, with Lashley running out to make the save

Team Raw (Big Show, Kane, Shawn Michaels, Carlito, and Chris Masters) defeated Team Smackdown (Randy Orton, Lashley, John Bradshaw Layfield, Rey Mysterio, and Matt Hardy)

The order of elimination was Carlito (by Rey Mysterio), Matt Hardy (by Chris Masters after Randy Orton inadvertently hit him with a chair), Chris Masters (by Randy Orton), Big Show (by Lashley), Rey Mysterio (by Kane), Kane (by Randy Orton), John Bradshaw Layfield (by Shawn Michaels), Lashley (counted out after Vader again attacked him), and Randy Orton (by DQ after Bob Orton interfered).

Triple H defeated Ric Flair in a Last Man Standing Match by using the Sledgehammer

MNM © defeated The Mexicools to retain the WWE Tag Titles

WWE in Negotiations
It can be revealed that the WWE have opened up negotiations with a number of superstars; including Goldust, Vader, Brock Lesnar, and The Rock. No word yet on whether or not these workers will be returning in a full time capacity or simply in one off roles.

In other superstar news, The Undertaker and Rob Van Damn are both due to return from injury in the near future.

OOC Note: It will take a while for me to wrap up current WWE storylines. Consequently the first month or so will seem a little disjointed.

Monday Night Raw Results - December 5th 2005
Hey ya'll, just got back from Raw taped here in the HSBC Arena. Here's my run-down of how the night went.

The show started off with Carlito's Cabana. His guest was Eric Bischoff, who basically boasted about how great it was to see Raw triumph at Survivor Series. He said that he wanted to reward Shawn Michaels for carrying the flag for Raw and he would announce HBK's reward later in the night. Carlito wanted to know what his reward was, which is hilarious given he was the first eliminated. Bischoff thinks about it and then says 'Why not? I'm in a good mood. You can have a title shot against John Cena tonight!'. Carlito is understandbly happy about it.

This, of course, brings out John Cena. He gets a huge pop as he does his 'The Champ is Here' schtik. He congratulates Team Raw on their victory against Team Smackdown, but asks Bischoff why a 'trained martial artist' like him needed Vader to help him beat Teddy Long. He says that maybe Bischoff just has a thing for big, fat, sweaty men and wanted to have one close to him. Bischoff sputters and gets angry, and says Cena can't talk to him like that. Cena reminds him that he is the champ and that the chain gang has his back.

He then says that he's finished with Kurt Angle, and that he wants a new challenge. Bischoff says he's got somebody in mind, and Cena shouldn't worry his pretty little head about it. Cena makes a lame gay joke about Bischoff calling him pretty and then does his 'Just Bring It' thing.

COMMERCIAL

Gregory Helms vs. Romeo
Can you spell S-Q-U-A-S-H? Helms came out to decent heat and basically beat the sh*t out of Romeo for a few minutes before nailing a win with the Nightmare on Helms Street.

After the match he gets on the mike. He says he's sick and tired of having people remember him as a wannabe superhero who tagged with an overweight Samoan. He says he carried Rosey for the last year and that it's time for it to end. It's time for his career to flourish and it can't do that as long as it's stuck in Rosey's gravitational pull. That's why he's requesting a Loser Leaves Town match against Rosey for next week's Raw.

He continues to speak, but he's interrupted by Triple H's music. The Game was victorious at Survivor Series and he comes out with a cocky swagger. Helms remains in the ring, and watches warily as Triple H gets on the mike.
Triple H: Step aside, kid. I've got business to attend to.
Helms reluctantly steps out of the ring and Triple H embarks on his standard long, dull speech about how he is The Game and how he ended Ric Flair's career at Survivor Series. He says that while Bischoff is handing out title shots, maybe he needs to remember who the best damn wrestler in the WWE is.

WOOOOOOO!

Ric Flair struts out to a huge ovation. He doesn't bother speaking, and instead rushes down to the ring with a baseball bat. Triple H bails out, and Flair struts around the ring Wooooing his heart out. He then gets on the mike.
Flair: Triple H, we've got unfinished business! Woooo! We're one apiece and the way I see it, we need to go to a tie-breaker, woooo! So, Hunter, are you man enough to step into the ring with The Nature Boy one last time? Woooo!

He wooed some more before stumbling off.

Kane & Big Show (c) vs. T.N.T for the WWE Tag Titles
Our second squash match of the night, with Cade and Murdoch basically made to look like chumps in this one. They get off some token offence before Show and Kane pick up the 1-2-3 following a double chokeslam on Murdoch.

COMMERCIAL

We're not backstage with Maria and Chavo Guerrero. He gets a mammoth pop as it's revealed he's not in his Kerwin White gear. Maria prepares to ask him a question, but Chavo interrupts her. He compliments her on how fine she looks. He says he's almost tempted to forfeit his upcoming match next to show her how fine he thinks she looks. Maria plays dumb. Chavo says he's got a match against Rob Conway next.
Chavo: The Conman may do things the 'con way', but Chavo learned about lying, cheating, and stealing from the best in the business. Watch and learn, Conway.

Chavo Guerrero vs. Rob Conway
The first real match of the night is quite good. Conway starts off by being all arrogant and strutting around. He slaps Chavo, who doesn't seem like he'll retaliate, but then does so with a thumb to the eye. The crowd mark out for that. It's a good, even match with Chavo the obvious fan favourite. Conway looks likely to get a win when he manages to kick Chavo in the groin whilst the ref isn't watching, but Chavo is able to kick out at the last moment. Chavo begins to get in control and signals for the Low Rider, but Conway has had enough. He kicks Chavo again, this time in plain sight, and the referee calls for a DQ. Chavo is the winner, but Rob Conway is the one standing. He picks Chavo up for the Ego Trip, which draws huge heel heat.

COMMERCIAL

Returning from the break, and it's Shawn Michaels in Eric Bischoff's office. The fans love Michaels, clearly. Bischoff says he has called Shawn in here for one reason. He needs a #1 contender for January's Royal Rumble - and he thinks HBK is the right man for the job. That draws a huge reaction from the fans. HBK nods and smiles.

Shelton Benjamin vs. Chris Masters
I was bracing myself for the inevitable Benjamin job here, since the WWE clearly respect Masters more than they do a guy who can actually wrestle. Things start off in usual fashion, Masters in control through his strength. He twice attempts the Masterlock. On the first occasion Shelton fights back before he can lock it in and on the second he drops Masters into a jawbreaker that lets him get on the offensive. These two do put on a good match, and the crowd really get worked up as Benjamin begins to get in control. They're even more ecstatic when he's able to avoid the Masterlock a third time and hit the T-Bone Suplex for a surprise 1-2-3.

Now we're backstage with Kurt Angle. He claims that Shawn Michaels being named #1 contender is a load of crap. He says that he was robbed at Survivor Series, and that he demands one last shot at Cena. He knows he can beat him. He won a freaking Gold medal, and he can beat a street thug like Cena. He's asking Bischoff for one last shot.

John Cena (c) vs. Carlito for the WWE Title
Cena is still heaps over, and he does what the crowd want in this one - dominating Carlito from the start. He looks set to pick up the win after about five minutes when he signals for the F-U, but Bischoff distracts the referee, allowing Carlito to slide free and hit a low blow. He does some old school, heelish brawling and choking on the champion with Bischoff's assistance. After a few minutes of this, Carlito gets Bischoff to pass him an apple, and waits with a moutful for Cena to stand. Cena does so, but he ducks the spray of apple and picks Carlito up. F-U! 1-2-3! Cena retains!

COMMERCIAL

After the break we find Shawn Michaels backstage. He enters Kurt Angle's dressing room, and the two long-standing rivals face off.
HBK: Settle down, big guy, I'm here with a proposal.
Kurt: What do you want?
HBK: The showstoppa's been thinking. Shawn Michaels thinks he has a solution to your problem
Kurt: What's that?
HBK: Kurt, I'm suggesting that we have the long awaited decider. Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels IV - with the winner getting that shot at Cena.
Kurt: Why would you do that? What's in it for you?
HBK: You're kidding, right? Aside from putting on a match that people won't ever forget? I'm confident of winning, baby. I feel it in my veins. Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle IV will end the way our match at Homecoming should have. The winner... H...B...K.

COMMERCIAL

Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels for #1 Contendership
Once again these two put on the kind of match that they're famous for, a near twenty minute odyessy of wrestling brilliance. Both guys see-saw in control, and there's near falls aplenty. Both guys also attempt their finishers on a few occasions, with HBK even attempting the Angle Slam (which almost cost him the match, as Angle slid free and locked in the Ankle Lock). Nearing the twenty minute mark, both men clothesline each other and are down. The crowd begin to chant for HBK, but boo as Edge rushes into the ring with his briefcase. Michaels is first to his feet, and Edge drills him with it! The referee calls for the DQ, but Edge isn't done. As Angle stands he nails him with the Spear! Edge has laid out both contenders here!

He grabs a mike.
Edge: What about me!? I sit backstage and I watch in horror as Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle are gifted with opportunities I deserve. I watch in disgust as John Cena drags the image of the WWE Title through the dirt. Well I can't stand it any more. Bischoff, if you're looking for a #1 contender, look no further than me. I've got this contract, and I want my shot now. So bring out Cena and let's end his farce of a reign!

Bischoff's music hits, and the general manager of Raw comes out.
Bischoff: Edge, Edge, Edge... aside from the fact you've just ruined my main event, why should I give you what you want?
Edge: I've got money in the bank, Eric.
Bischoff: Maybe it's slipped your mind, Edge, but hopefully this will jog your memory...

A video of the original announcement of the Money in the Bank tournament is made - showing clearly that the title shot was for the World Heavyweight Title.

Edge: That's bullsh*t, Eric! You know it is! I can't just go over to Smackdown and wrestle for their title. Teddy wouldn't even let me in the God damn building. This is just a joke! I'm Mr. Money in the Bank, and yet I'm forgotten each and every time! Chris Jericho and now Kurt Angle have failed, what makes you think Shawn Michaels can get the job done!? I'm the logical choice. I want my shot now!
Eric: Edge, Edge... you need to calm down. I'm a reasonable guy. I'll tell you what. I'm going to make another Money in the Bank match, right here, right now. It will be Edge vs.....

Bischoff steps aside as the familiar music of the World's Largest Love Machine hits. Viscera struts out to the surprise of the crowd.

Viscera vs. Edge in a Money in the Bank Match
Mercifully this match doesn't last very long. Viscera is basically on the back foot before he can even step into the ring. Edge dominates him with underhanded tactics, and then ends it with two consecutive Spears.

As he celebrates, however, John Cena races down the ramp. The two begin brawling and soon Edge is forced to bail out of the ring. Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle, still ringside, block his escape. He's trapped between the champion and two contenders! As the show ends, Edge looks like he regrets his decision to interfere.

Pretty good. If only the real stuff didn't just look like it was thrown together in a couple of minutes.

Haha, that show was completely random on my part. The game requires I fill certain time requirements, and after the Angle vs. HBK main event I realised I still had twenty minutes to fill. Hence Edge's odd appearance. I'll run with it, though.

Nice start I liked it.

How good would another HBK vs. Angle match be?

Also I liked how you gave Edge a title shot.

Good work and keep it up.

Snitsky, Wilson, and Tomko Fired!
The WWE have today announced on their website that they have released Gene Snitsky, Tyson Tomko, and long-serving diva, Torrie Wilson. All three have been wished well in their future endeavours.

In signing news, it can be revealed that Dustin Rhodes (Goldust) and Duane Johnson (The Rock) have agreed to terms with the company, as well as a large number of developmental talents who have made the move to Ohio Valley Wrestling or Deep South Wrestling.

1257498.jpg

Smackdown Results

The show opens with Theodore Long looking the worse for wear after his Survivor Series match against Eric Bischoff. He's all business, however, as he announces that he intends to prove Smackdown is the best by putting on a hell of a show. He announces that Batista will face Randy Orton in a title rematch, and that there will be a four team tournament to decide who gets a shot at MNM at Armageddon. The first match is to be held tonight, and sees Psicosis and Super Crazy up against LOD 2005.

A video is played to hype the 'streak vs. streak' match that will take place between Lashley and Ken Kennedy.

We cut backstage to where William Regal is seated beside Paul Birchall. Regal tells Birchall that he is a legend in the making and the future of this 'American monopoly'.

MATCH 1 - Paul Birchall vs. Steven Richards
Richards got a decent pop coming back from injury, but went back to spending his in ring time on the mat - being squashed in order to put another young bull over. At least Birchall manages to not break his nose. It's a passable squash match, with Birchall dominating and then locking in the Fujiwara Armbar to make Richards tap.

COMMERCIAL

After the break we are backstage to see the arrival of Randy Orton. He and his father spill out of a limo with champagne in hand and the title over Randy's shoulder. They're in a fine mood when Randy bumps into Matt Hardy backstage.
Randy: Move it Hardy. Can't you see your blocking the champion?
Hardy: I don't see a champion. I see a cheat
Randy: See what you want, Hardy. The fact of the matter is that I've got the World Heavyweight Title on my shoulder.
Hardy: Don't get cocky, Randy. Life's full of twists of fate.

Orton, probably remembering the Twist of Fate he copped two weeks ago, takes offence and swings. The two begin to brawl but Hardcore Holly and Chris Benoit are on hand to break it up. Randy is dragged back by Holly, yelling about how he'll get Matt back for the Twist of Fate.

MATCH 2 - Booker T (c) vs. Rey Mysterio for the US Title
Booker T was, of course, escorted to the ring by Sharmell. A good, open match between two underrated workers. Rey looks on track for an upset win via the West Coast Pop when Sharmell trips him up, allowing Booker T to retain with the Book End.

COMMERCIAL

After the break we see a second limousine pull up, but this time it's not a familiar face stepping out of the limo. No, it's the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase! Of course, he signed with the WWE not long ago, and it looks like he's here in on on screen capacity. He looks around with something like disdain and then enters the arena.

Josh Matthews is backstage with Chris Benoit, who was robbed of his chance at regaining the US Title at Survivor Series. Matthews tries to ask him about it, but Benoit cuts him off. He doesn't care about the US Title - he wants the World Title. Over the last few weeks he's been thinking about what he's achieved, and he wants to become champion one last time - regardless of whether Batista or Randy Orton wins tonight's match. This claim brings out Matt Hardy, who says he has a score to settle with Orton. He says he should get a shot. The two stare one another down.

MATCH 3 - New LOD vs. The Mexicools
The Mexicools are clearly the faces here, although LOD do get a chant or two of their own. A great match, albeit a styles clash. Animal has Super Crazy set up for the Doomsday Device but Crazy is able to turn it into a Sunset Flip for the upset 1-2-3. Heidenreich and Animal look shocked, but shake hands with the Mexicools - who go on to face the winner of Regal/Burchill vs. London/Spanky.

COMMERCIAL

Joey Mercury, Melina, and Johnny Nitro are backstage in their dressing room. Joey has been entered in tonight's ten man battle royal for the Cruiserweight Title, and his MNM stable mates are psyching him up. Nitro looks a little dejected at not being included, but hides it for Mercury.

MATCH 4 - Ken Kennedy vs. Lashley
Lashley's response is good, although Kennedy gets more of a reaction when he does his standard in ring introduction schtik. Good, brawling based match. Lashley's size advantage is telling, but Kennedy uses underhanded tactics to stay in the game. Lashley gets in control after Kennedy fails to lift him for a suplex, and has his opponent set up for the Dominator... IT'S TIME! IT'S VADER TIME! Lashley drops Kennedy, who is quick to scurry away. Lashley doesn't wait for Vader, and rushes up the ramp to confront him. Kennedy remains in the ring as Lashley is counted out, giving the match to Kennedy.

Backstage we find Lashley searching for Vader, but he's nowhere to be seen. Kennedy is in the ring laughing.

In another room backstage we find Ted DiBiase watching on a monitor. The screen shows a frustrated Lashley knocking over a bookshelf. DiBiase rubs his chin thoughtfully and shakes his head.

COMMERCIAL

Returning from the break we find Juventud with Josh Matthews. Juvi doesn't make a lot of sense, but says he is going to win the battle royal.

MATCH 5 - Cruiserweight Battle Royal
The bout features Juventud (c), Super Crazy, Psicosis, Nunzio, Brian Kendrick, Funaki, Joey Mercury, Paul London, Scotty 2 Hotty, and Simon Dean.

The first eliminated is Dean, followed shortly after by Funaki and Scotty 2 Hotty. The major players seem to be Mercury, London, and Juvi. Next out is Kendrick, who is bundled out by Psicosis - who is in turn eliminated by London as an act of revenge. Super Crazy dropkicks London, who skins the cat to get back into the ring. The two exchange offence before Crazy is sent to the outside by a fired up London.

The final four are Joey Matthews, Nunzio, Paul London, and the champion. Nunzio becomes the first casualty when he is double teamed to the outside by London and Juvi. Matthews manages to lay out Juvi from behind and gets into a battle with London, who stiff kicks the sh*t out of him before tossing him out. As he stands atop the turnbuckle celebrating, Juvi is quick to his feet to bundle him out for the retention.

COMMERCIAL

Backstage once more, and Teddy Long looks up in surprise as Chris Benoit and Matt Hardy burst into his office arguing over who should be #1 contender. Long says there's no need to argue - he'll make a match. It will be Matt Hardy vs. Chris Benoit for the #1 contendership to the World Heavyweight Title.

MATCH 6 - Matt Hardy vs. Chris Benoit for #1 Contendership
This is easily a match of the week candidate, falling second to Angle vs. Michaels IV on Raw earlier in the week. Benoit and Hardy both have their periods of control, with Benoit making Hardy look especially good late in this sixteen minute mini-epic.

Benoit looks in control when he hits the triple German suplexes, but Hardy embodies 'Will not die' with a late kick-out. He twice fails to hit the Twist of Fate, and things look grim when Benoit is able to trap him in the Crossface. Booker T's music hits, however, and the US Champion stands at the top of the ramp to watch. Benoit gets distracted and goes to the ropes to abuse his former friend. As he spins around to continue the match, Hardy kicks him in the gut and nails the Twist of Fate for the 1-2-3!

Benoit looks livid at Booker T, but has the decency to raise Hardy's arm.

COMMERCIAL

Batista is seen backstage, preparing for his title shot against Randy Orton. He looks focussed and switched on. Suddenly the door to his locker room bursts open and he is attacked by Randy Orton and Bob Orton. He is caught by surprise and quickly beat down. Orton cracks his arm with a chair before security can arrive to break it up. Orton and his father make a quick exit.

Match 7 - Randy Orton (c) vs. Batista for the World Heavyweight Title
Orton and Bob Orton are first out, and when Batista comes out he looks decidedly the worse for wear. His arm is in a sling and he looks exhausted. Still, the fans cheer for him as he steps into the ring to take back what is rightfully his.

What follows is basically an excuse to take Batista out of action. He fights valiantly, but with only one arm he's basically handicapped from the outset. He tries to hit the Batista Bomb once to the crowd's delight, but can't hold Randy Orton up with the one arm. Orton drops and nails him with the RKO for the 1-2-3 and the retain. After the match he uses a chair to lay waste to Batista's head and arms, effectively putting him out of action.

The show ends with Orton standing over Batista and looking arrogant.

When's Taker back CWB?

Since he's adopting a new gimmick, it'll take 56 game days. I *might* have him back in time for Royal Rumble - but it may not be until February game time.

(The reason being that I'm playing a game to sim this, and it has its own rules and such)

December 13th 2005

Raw kicks off with Eric Bischoff's music hitting and the Raw GM strutting out to the ring. He replays highlights of the alteraction between Edge, Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, and John Cena on last week's show - and announces that he will decide upon a #1 contender to John Cena's crown at New Year's Revolution by pitting Edge, Shawn Michaels, and Kurt Angle against one another one at a time - starting with Angle vs. Michaels tonight. He promises a result this week.

The first match of the evening sees Raw's somewhat laughable tag division on display - with Big Show and Kane set to defend against V2 (the team of Val Venis and Viscera).

MATCH ONE: Big Show & Kane (c) vs. V2 for the World Tag Titles
This match is basically further proof of Kane and Big Show's dominance, with Val Venis bumping like crazy for the two big men. Viscera comes across looking quite good, remarkably, kicking out after a Big Show chokeslam and then going achingly close to an upset victory when he's able to land a big avalanche on Show. The end comes with Viscera sent to the outside and Val Venis being treated to the team's trademark double chokeslam.

COMMERCIAL

After the break the fans go crazy as The Nature Boy Ric Flair struts out to the ring. He replays his attack on Triple H last week again and again, much to the delight of the fans. He then speaks.
Flair: Hunter, you son of a bitch, I don't want to wait until New Year's Revolution to end this! I don't want to let you set your evil intelligence to work on undoing the Nature Boy. I say we end it here tonight! The third and final confrontation! What do you say, Hunter? Wooooo!

This, of course, brings out The Game - who surprisingly accepts Flair's challenge, much to the crowd's delight.

MATCH TWO - Trish Stratus (c) vs. Victoria for the WWE Women's Title
A fairly standard women's match here, thankfully between the WWE's two more recognisably talented female workers. Candice Michelle and Mickie James are both ringside, and Trish is able to pick up the win after Mickie James hits her spinning kick on Victoria whilst the referee is down. After the match Trish questions Mickie's involvement whilst Mickie James continually tries to raise Trish's hand.

COMMERCIAL

Returning from the break, and it's a fairly lengthy video detailing Triple H and Ric Flair's falling out since Triple H's return at Homecoming a few months ago. It continually focusses on Triple H's ruthless attack on the night, and then Flair's tenacious win at Taboo Tuesday.

MATCH THREE - Ric Flair vs. Triple H
Fans might have been expecting this to be a genuine, PPV quality match - and they are definitely given nothing to indicate otherwise when it starts. Flair and Triple H slug it out in old school brawling fashion for some time, and the fans are just beginning to get into it when Flair sets Hunter up for the Pedigree. The fans go nuts, but HHH rolls to the outside. Frustrated, Hunter grabs his sledgehammer and, without bothering with subtlety, blasts Flair with it! The referee grants Ric Flair the win by DQ, but Triple H certainly looks the victor as he bloodies his former friend and Evolution ally.

A brief ad for Carlito's Cabana featuring John Cena is shown.

COMMERCIAL

Returning from the break we find Carlito in the ring. He talks about he 'took John Cena to the limit' and how cool that is. He then introduces Cena, and Cena cuts a short promo at Carlito's expense. Carlito quickly changes the subject to the three way battle for the #1 contendership. Cena says he's tired of beating Kurt Angle. He says it would be an honour to fight Shawn Michaels, and Edge is definitely a dark horse. He then said that, when it came down to it, the chain gang had his back. Strangely, this drew some boos from the crowd.

The segment looks to be hotting up some when suddenly Rosey and Gregory Helms begin battling their way down the ramp. Clearly the two can't wait to get to grips with one another for their Loser Leaves Town match. Carlito and Cena clear the ring and the ref calls for the bell.

MATCH FOUR - Rosey vs. Gregory Helms in a Loser Leaves Town Match
This is a fairly brutal match to start with, Rosey dominating the smaller man with his size and strength. It spills to the outside early on, and Helms is split right open when he is whipped hard into the ring post. Helms gets back into it with a blatant low blow (allowed by this match's No DQ stipulation). Helms then enjoys a period of control, but he goes too far when he attempts to whip the bigger man. Rosey puts on the break and then captures his former ally in a hard belly to belly to the mat. Cover, but Helms gets up. The battle eventually returns to the ring, and it turns in Helms' favour when he is able to drop Rosey with a dropkick and then go to the outside for a chair. He's caught as he comes back in, however, and Rosey absolutely blasts him with the chair across the head. Cover. 1-2-3! Rosey steals the win, and Helms is gone!

Of course, Helms is too groggy to realise, and looks downright distraught when the referee raises Rosey's hand.

COMMERCIAL

Edge is backstage with Ashley Massaro. He talks about how he's been biding his time since winning the Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania - and that his time is now. He's not going to waste his Money in the Bank shot, though. He's going to win this little three way situation and keep his money right where it belongs.

MATCH FIVE - Edge vs. Tajiri
As expected, Edge is only in action so that the fans don't forget he's in the title scene. The match is a decent one, Tajiri doing the standard plucky underdog stuff (including the tarantula) before getting nailed with the Spear for the 1-2-3, but not without Lita tripping him up on an attempted handspring elbow.

Shawn Michaels is backstage with Ashley, and he cuts a quick promo about his upcoming match against Kurt. He says it's currently 1 all after four matches, and tonight he's going to put it beyond doubt and book himself a title shot by beating the Olympic Gold Medalist.

COMMERCIAL

MATCH SIX - Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels
This isn't an official #1 contender's match, since Edge is also involved in this situation - but both men certainly treat it like one. Like it's not a patch on their Wrestlemania match or their Homecoming Iron Man bout - it's still what fans expect from two superb workers. Kurt goes in control early with his tiring technical style wearing down the more speed based HBK - but the Showstopper keeps the fans energised as he battles out of a sleeper hold, drops Kurt with a jawbreaker, and then tunes up the band. He advances, but Kurt is quick to grab his ankle and lock in the ankle lock!

The fans go nuts as HBK twice nears the ropes, and twice is dragged back to the centre of the ring. His hands wavers just above the mat, he's going to tap..... NO! He rolls through and Kurt goes shoulder first into the ring post. He again tunes the band, but again Kurt is savvy enough to react - shoving the unfortunate referee into the path of HBK's devestating finisher. The referee understandly goes down, and Kurt is quick to nail HBK with the Angle Slam. The crowd count it as 1-2-3, but with no referee, Kurt isn't declared the winner. Frustrated he goes to shake the referee, and doesn't notice as a second referee enters. As Angle stands, HBK nails him with Sweet Chin Music for the 1-2-3.

HBK celebrates his victory, but things go awry as the 'You Think You Know Me...' kicks in and Edge hits the ring. The two begin to brawl and just as HBK looks to be getting the upper hand, Angle gets to his feet and attacks him from behind. Edge nails HBK with the Spear, and is rewarded with a German suplex from Angle for his troubles. The scene is devolving when Cena hits the ring and cleans house with his trademark clotheslines and the big spinning hiptoss on Angle.

This chaos draws out Bischoff, who books the four men in a tag team match next week on Raw. It will be John Cena and Shawn Michaels up against Kurt Angle and Edge!

Wow nice show CWB and I really mean that.

The storylines you have going are a lot better than the ones in the WWE.

Good work and keep it up.

Glad you're enjoying it, Pete and Nick. :) And now, without further ado - Smackdown!

1257498.jpg

December 18th 2005

Smackdown kicks off with the usual pyros and rockin' music, and the night kicks off with the Sicilian Silencer, Vito, making his way out to the ring without Nunzio. He's scheduled to take on big Bobby Lashley in the opening bout of the night - and the two's history together is played before Lashley makes his arrival.

MATCH ONE - Bobby Lashley vs. Vito
These two have tangled before, and without Nunzio to add some distractions to this one - Vito is made to look like an absolute clown as he is beaten from pillar to post by Lashley, who last week had his unbeaten streak ended by Ken Kennedy. He picks up an easy win after hitting the Dominator for the 1-2-3, much to the delight of the crowd.

Backstage we once again see Ted DiBiase, the Million Dollar Man nodding appreciatively as he watches Lashley celebrate his victory. Has he found the man he's looking for?

We cut across to a dressing room in which William Regal and Birchall are preparing for their match against Paul London and Brian Kendrick - the winners to face The Mexicools for a shot at MNM's tag titles. Regal waxes lyrical about his young protege's abilities, whilst Birchall is content to call both Kendrick and London 'airy fairy poofs'. That match is up next!

MATCH TWO - Regal & Birchall vs. London & Kendrick
You couldn't get a more contrasted bout, with the British pairing relying on strength and their considerable technical prowess to ground the faster pair of London and Kendrick. The two fliers have extensive experience together on the indy scene, however, and come up with some tremendous team work to keep themselves in the bout despite Birchall's obvious talents. Spanky is even treated to the WWE's first ever C-4 when he is caught by Birchall, but London flies off the top rope with a big leg drop to break it up. Birchall tags out to Regal, who is unable to handle the fresh London - who knocks him down with several dropkicks before hitting the London Calling. He then tags out to Spanky, who hits Sliced Bread #2 and covers Regal for the 1-2-3. The underdog pairing of 'Spanky' and London progresses!

Before we go to break we're treated to a brief video package highlighting the recent feud between Matt Hardy and Randy Orton, starting with the Twist of Fate on Orton prior to Survivor Series and building towards Hardy's first ever World Title shot later tonight.

We return from the break to see Teddy Long in his office. He's on the phone to somebody.
Long: Playa, I'm not goin' lie to you, it's a worry. Palmer Cannon has been promoted, and I just got word that a new network rep is coming to Smackdown to ensure that the network's interests are cared for.

Chris Benoit bursts into the room at this point, and Long is forced to hang up. He asks Benoit what he wants, and he says that he demands a shot at Booker T after his former friend cost him a World Title shot last week. Teddy says it's a fair deal, and books it. That match is next!

Outside a limousine pulls up, and the old school fans as Don 'Cyrus the Virus' Callis steps out of the limousine and casts a contempt filled look around the arena!

MATCH THREE - Chris Benoit vs. Booker T (c) for the US Title
These two long time friends and foes continue their recent series of matches against one another, and once again it's a see-sawing affair that sees both men enjoy periods of dominance. Once again, however, it comes down to interference to rob Benoit of what could possibly have been a victory - Sharmell tripping him up as he went up top to attempt the suicide headbutt. Booker T capitalises with the scissor kick and a 1-2-3 to retain, much to the crowd's displeasure.

As Booker and Sharmell celebrate, however, Teddy Long appears at the top of the ramp.
Long: Playa, this can't keep going on. We're going to settle this once and for all at Armageddon. It will be Chris Benoit vs. Booker T for the United States Championship in a Steel Cage match!

Booker T and Sharmell object, but Long's mind is made up. Benoit nods in satisfaction as we go to commercial.

We return from the break to see Juventud, Super Crazy, and Psicosis psyching one another up before their respective matches. Juvi defends his title against Nunzio, whilst The Mexicools are up against The Dicks.

We then cut to the back, where a car pulls up and disgraced former Raw superstar Gregory Helms steps out. He grins as he enters the arena!

MATCH FOUR - The Mexicools vs. The Dicks
This is a good, fast paced match designed to highlight the Mexicools' considerable talents going in to their deciding match against Paul London & Spanky next week to see who will face MNM. The Dicks get off some offence, and even try their baby lotion trick on Super Crazy - but it ends with Psicosis hitting the leg drop for the 1-2-3.

Back from the break and Super Crazy & Psicosis are still ringside as Juventud makes his way out for a Cruiserweight title defence against Nunzio. There's no sign of Vito, with Michael Cole and Tazz saying he had to be sent to hospital after taking the Dominator from Lashley.

MATCH FIVE - Juventud (c) vs. Nunzio for the Cruiserweight Title
These two have locked horns plenty of times, and this match is another fine example of why the division is so interesting. Juvi's speed is nicely offset by Nunzio's tremendous technical ability. In a quick, largely uneventful (in terms of story) match - Juventud picks up the win after hitting the Bronco Buster.

For the second time tonight we see somebody watching from backstage, with Gregory Helms seemingly eying a potential cruiserweight title reign as he watches Juventud defeat Nunzio.

COMMERCIAL

Returning from the break we see Teddy Long's office in uproar as Don Callis and his two personal assistants (yet to be named) 'moving in' to the office. Callis shoves all of Long's things to one side and makes a line down the centre of the desk with a roll of tape. He then sets up on one half of it, with his personal assistants re-ordering that entire side of the room.

Long: What the hell are you doing, playa?

Callis ignores him.

Long: I'm talking to you!

Callis makes a subtle gesture towards one of his assistants.

Long: Can you ask your boss what he's doing?
Assistant: Mr. Callis, Mr. Long has called to enquire as to what you're doing.
Callis: Could you please inform Mr. Long that I am currently in a meeting and I will return his call at my earliest convenience?
Assistant: Mr. Callis is currently in a...

Teddy Long cuts him off with a mild temper tantrum which Callis calmly ignores. The door opens as JBL and Ken Kennedy enter. They ask if they can speak with Don Callis, who greets them warmly. Apparently they're his meeting. They're saying that Teddy Long has been misusing them and hasn't even booked them in a match tonight. Callis says that is appaling, as the network is very happy with their work. He books them a match tonight - Ken Kennedy & JBL vs. Rey Mysterio and Hardcore Holly. And it's next!

COMMERCIAL

MATCH SIX - JBL & Ken Kennedy vs. Rey Mysterio & Hardcore Holly
This may seem like a thrown together match, but on a more subtle level it's got some nice liittle sub-stories going. Kennedy and Mysterio have tangled before, as have JBL and Mysterio. JBL and Holly exchange stiff shots in the early going, two big brawlers demonstrating what old fashioned hand to hand can do. Then it's up to Mysterio to shake things up with his fast style, he and Kennedy rekindling their chemistry with some exciting exchanges (and that uranage from Kennedy). After a good, fast paced match the end comes with Kennedy distracting the referee. Holly manages to hit the Alabama Slamma on JBL, but with the referee busy - he can't count it. JBL low blows Holly and rolls him up for the 1-2-3.

After the bout, Kennedy and JBL embrace and celebrate as if they'd won the World Cup. JBL calls for champagne and the two spray it about before departing through the crowd.

The somewhat bemusing celebrations fade as we cut to a video filmed earlier in the week with Matt Hardy and Josh Matthews. The interview is a realistic, unflinching discussion with Hardy about the obstacles he's overcome (with an extended stay on the Amy Dumas/Adam Copeland thing) and how he feels about getting a title shot. It comes across as an attempt by the WWE to legitimise their product some more.

COMMERCIAL

The break ends to cheers as Matt Hardy is shown backstage. He's strapping his arms when Randy and Bob Orton storm his locker room and a brawl ensues. Like last week's attack on Batista, this one involves the chair, but it ends prematurely when Hardy is able to duck a chair shot and wrest the chair from Orton's hands. He sends the two packing, but looks the worse for wear.

MATCH SEVEN - Matt Hardy vs. Randy Orton (c) for the World Heavyweight Title
Like last week, this match plays out with the injured babyface trying to overcome the odds against a fit and strong opponent. Orton dominates for much of it thanks to this and Bob Orton's interference, but gets a scare late in the piece when Matt Hardy almost nails him with the Twist of Fate. The clash ends cleanly, Orton hitting the RKO after wearing an injured Hardy down with sleeper holds and submissions.

As Randy celebrates, however, Matt Hardy lives up to his 'Will Not Die' persona by staggering to his feet and hitting both Randy and Bob with the Twist of Fate. The show ends with a triumphant Matt Hardy holding Orton's title aloft.
