This is gold!!! :D

This is with out a doubt the best thing Ray Hadley has ever done.(Although that would not be hard) As long as Ray Hadley continues to support this move by Lyon to Manly Fitzgerald will never release Jamie from his contractual requirements. Meaning Jamie will never play for his beloved Wee Waa, and nor should the grub!

Keep it up Ray you legend.

If Jamie stated in the letter the reason he wanted out was because he didn't want to play under Smith then he should not be offered a release, this is a poor excuse to get out of a contract. If he simply doesn't like city life and wants to live in Wee Waa then I can sympathathis with that, but if Brian Smith is the issue then no release Jamie.

Well, begs the question, doesn't it.

Would you rather us release Jamie Lyon, or Brian SMith?

In an instant I'd be ripping Smith's contract up, and organising a Countrylink ticket from Narrabri-Parramatta, first class, plus 2 railway pies for the journey!

I'd sack Smith, but only because I want him out anyway. I wouldn't go crawling back to Jamie though, he can sit on the sidelines for 3 years for all I care.

well to start with - what is the qustion??

You got a coach that must be sleeping with Fittzy..

How can you guys keep on going on - Why not look at the players released over the past five years and work it out for yourselves. The Roosters are loving your releases

Smith is no good and is a bad judge of players

Regardless of whether smith shoud go or not (and its not a debate I'm getting into, plenty of opinions on that already), I would be disappointed if our club rewarded Jamie by his actions.

One great thing about our club is that we have always done things the right way and we know what a contract is and what it means. We have always fullfilled our contractual obligations and expected likewise in return. Its a trait that plenty of other clubs could learn from.

Fish, I know of one instance where we haven't fulfiled our obligations.

And anyone who wouldn't want to see Killer at his best in the club colours again is nuts. Its Smith he has an issue with, not Parra.

We don't know that for certain, it's just speculation. Jamie still has done the wrong thing by the club, I don't see how you can be willing to forgive and forget so easily.

not saying that. I'd welcome him back, if he decided to come back to us. The smith issue is pure speculation at the moment.

I think the damage that Jyon has done to Parra is dwarfed by that ofBrian SMith. And Smith is the reason that our secoind best player - after many years of busting his tits off on the paddock, decided to chuck it in.

A lot of people forget Lyon's efforts last year. He was a tower of strength for us, regularly making 25+ tackles a game. For his efforts, he recieved absolutely no ball.

This just isn't about a player getting homesick, or wanting to try Union, or missing his girlfriend. This is about a world class player being treated like shit on the paddock by the coaches game plans, and being treated like shit from the coach himself.

Lyon, the best 3/4 in the world, would still be here if we didn't have Brian Smith!!!!!

HK(Haig Kayserian): Lastly, Crusher there’s been a lot of speculation in the media about possible Manly signings, with top quality players such as Joel Monaghan and Jamie Lyon to name a few being mentioned as possible Sea Eagles’ signings for next season. Should we read into any of it?

NC (Noel Cleal): At this point in time, it’s media talk. We’re certainly talking to people but some of the media speculation is way off mark, others is… you know. There’s always going to be a link between Jamie Lyon and I because we’re good mates and there’s going to be that perception out there that we’re certainly trying to talk to him. Having said that, Jamie Lyon chases bigs as well. So, read into it what you want at this stage.

That should put rest to that... or not

As if he'd come out and say anything else.

If he came out and said he was trying to lure him to Manly he'd be in deep poo as Lyon is contracted to Parramatta.

Lets worry about whats happening on the field, coz that's a disgrace the last 5 weeks.
