"Jamie Lyon has been called to a meeting with Parramatta officials on Wednesday in a final attempt by the club to find out if he will play NRL again. Lyon has asked for a release from the remaining 2 years of his contract with the club to turn out for country side Wee Waa, something Eels officials would not speculate on last night.

"Some correspondence has been sent to Jamie and his management requesting he come in for a meeting in the middle of next week," said Parramatta general manager Greg Mitchell.
"The purpose of the meeting is to find out what Jamie is thinking right now and what his plans are. Given the relationship we have with Jamie and his manager, Alan Gainey, we see no reason why they wouldn't be attending."
Gainey said: "He's been invited, that's not to say he's going to be there. I have strongly advised him to go."
Lyon walked out on a sizeable contract after round one this season, telling officials he was tired of football and sick of Sydney. Gainey said his understanding of the purpose of Wednesday's meeting was to "conclude his contract".
"There would be some form of a deed of arrangement under which he wouldn't be able to play for another NRL club but would be able to play in the country," said Gainey. "I don't see it as a big deal."
Asked when he would know for certain that Lyon was attending, Gainey answered: "When he lobs."
The exact time and place of the meeting would be kept secret, Mitchell said."
I guess by the end of next week we will know if we will ever be seeing Jamie in the blue and gold again.
Pleased to see there will be a deed of arrangement in there so as he can't play against us.
