How many of you have done a fantasy draft franchise on madden?
What do you usually pick for the first say 10-15 picks. Not Just Names, but more importantly position. Just curious to see what positions you pick first then second and so on.

Cheers

Defense wins championships

you can win with a shoddy offense, but its much harder to win with a shoddy d

you want proof..... go ask a bloke called peyton manning    though his D has gotten better this year, still not good enough to take him to the big show

as for position, id go with my linebacker core to start off with, then corners, safties etc... just watch the draft to see whats being taken and if a player that you have your eye on gets taken, then get someone before everyone in that position goes

thats just my suggestion

I tried a fantasy draft today. I'm probably not going to do it again.

I made the mistake of going QB, HB, FB, WR, TE...so i got the dud OLBs and CBs. In the future i'll probably go QB, WR, CB, OLB, then the rest.

I play around with my order a fair bit. When i started i did the same thing as you Ian. But now i i usually a good MLB or OLB. 4 People i Reccommend.

Marcus Trufant - CB Better than wat his rating suggests. And still fairly young.
Ed Reed. - SS Never played a franchise without him. Top player and is excellent for rushing QB's and Stopping Punts.
Tommie Harris - DT Something like 80 overall but only 22 and Builds up well.
Kendrell Bell - MLB 22 and 92 need i say more.

In Madden I won for 7 years in a row with my eagles and got bored. Now on ESPN 2K5 I'm having a hell of a time with the salary cap. Stallworth was worth it but now I just gotta find cheap crappy back ups to make up the numbers #-o

I also look for age. I try not to draft anyone over 28, as it generally gives me a solid base for a while.

for a good running back thats down the order try Trung Canidate. hes on the free agent list in real game as well. i started a season with the chargers and i traded tomlinson for mike vick and then signed canidate and they dominated. canidate won the mvp

Travis Henry is good value also at close to 90 OVR in his early-mid twenties. He usually goes around pick 4 so he's very attainable.
