You both have a point. Madge was definitely still hungry but his tactics of motivation obviously weren't working anymore. His yelling and screaming wasn't getting the message across. You could tell he was getting desperate as well as he was bringing motivational speakers to training sessions. If it was confirmed that he had loss the dressing room it wouldn't surprise me but it disappoints me that the boys just gave up on him like that. I see fault with the players and Madge.
He did himself no favours last year when he stopped players attending that kids christening. Theres a fine line between being tough and just acting a merkin, the players are people and they will only tolerate so much. As a person who's job it is to manage people you need to make the right calls on issues like that. Once someone goes too far down a bad path as a manger it is very hard to recover from.
