If you go into the job knowing you will coach former teamates and you dont have it in you to make hard calls when they underperform...or when their skillset has moved on - then do everyone a favour, especially the diehard fans - dont take it on.

Nothing wrong with being a youth development gun. Longtime career to be had there. Seems unlikely to be a head coach after this contract the way he is tracking.

That’s all well and good. Sure we won some SG ball and Matthews cups, but who from those dominant teams and then the dominant 20s teams are now first graders??

Is there an equivalent number to say Penrith? That squad has guys like Naden and Staines who would walk into our side. What about burton? All kids who can’t get regular nrl.

isn’t the job of a development coach/guru to produce nrl players??

Can you say Morris has done that?

Now I’m not a Flanno fan, and know this nrl squad isn’t players Morris would have picked if he wasn’t left with a shit show that flanno caused. So I’m ok to live without a result, however I won’t put up with lack of commmitent in defence.

In fairness to Morris he has brought through a good number of players to NRL
FJ
Xerri
Ronnie
B2
Magoulias
Katoa

The made the decision to keep Chad over FJ (doubtful he stays given F senior going) and the Xerri issue was unforeseen.

Totally agree about putting with a lack of c commitment in defence. That is unacceptable.

Agree. Not saying he is a junior gun but he has had success there and there’s a career to be had there that I don’t think he will have as a head coach.

Morris has done well bringing through the next generation. The older players haven’t justified their pay packet and he can’t control them.

I wish we had Madge here dropping the dipshits.

Add on Curtis Scott, Jaemon Salmon, whom he had come through the junior grades and played 1sts for someone else. Anyone else for other clubs?

It been a very disruptive year for us and the NRL in general. Plus we are stuck with Flanno’s duds. Every coach has had trouble this year cept Bellyach and Madge. At least Barrett cannot be linked with us after Pay was sacked. This is a big transition year for us with Shark Park off line. Morris is doing ok with what he has and my prediction is some of his problems might just sort themselves out. He has demote Woodsy , he is not doing enough and is a bad example to our younger players.

Bedsides the Chad issue we don’t have anyone else to bring in to cover.
No reserve grade for match fitness or play well to push into a side.
Morris had zero say in losing Xerri and Jmoz, u put them there and we would of won a few more games easy without needing to use Will, Goodwin, nene etc.

Frenzy.

FJ is surrounded by superstars and has one of the NRLs apex coaches. Of course he will look good.

Bring him back here and he'd barely look better than Chad.

No doubt FJ got the plum gig. Chad would likely be good for Easts as he would play a role with little ego. Let Keary and Ted do the fancy stuff.

I thought Townsend was great the last couple of seasons.

I can tell you that most Sharks fans are sick and tired of that spud in the number 7 shirt. His ego is through the roof at the moment and his on field performances are not backing it up. Shocking hair cut. Terrible kicking game. Thinks his shit don’t stink and his podcast is balls.

He’s a flog.

Yep you only have to visit his Instagram and his shit YouTube channel to realise how far his head is stuck up his ass. Never seen someone so full of themselves for how shit they are at what they do. You’d think you’d want to lay low a bit

Not sure what your lower grades look like but Madge is lucky that he has depth in the halves. We have three guys who have all played over 150 NRL games and another fella that has looked capable when he's stepped up.

As a long suffering Wests fan it is great and refreshing to see a coach who is prepared to drop an axe on players. In years gone by established players would have fluffed about week in, week out without concern of being held accountable. Madge is starting to mould them as a tough team, our forwards are starting to respond, and there's still a lot of work he yet needs to do to the roster he inherited.
