Agree. Tigers picked up some quality, premiership winning players and power forwards. We picked up largely players at the end of their careers or those not really wanted at their club.
Meanwhile, Saints operated without a CEO and a Recruitmentt Manager/Staff; leaving all matters recruitment to Flannagan who had more then enough work trying to train/coach a poor quality squad of players.

Hopefully Flanno answers the tough questions at the presser. He sure talked alot during the week. We are cooked and he got a lucky premiership with gun players that used to ignore his gameplan and win according to the bye round podcast Jimmy and wade. Pity Kyle is signed until the end of 2027, absolute joke our club is.
There were no tough questions at the press conference

And Flanno thought we showed some gritt to almost come back and win it

Agree with above.
Don't think either Flanno is the right fit.
If he doesn't drop his son this week, he can go with him at seasons end.
The opportunities to score that werer missed were not as bad as the opportunities to defend were missed.

If Flannanagan is sacked we get something far worse, Dean Young. He is the current defensive coach and defense has been our biggest problem this season. Running a close second is the recruitment of quality players.

Disappointing loss tonight but in the positives its the first time we have grown some genuine local talent in the forwards in a while. Egan, Stewart and Couchman were all very good tonight and have been all season. With Loko and halangahu in the wings and other couchman recovering from his injury we look like we are going to have a very strong pack in years to come.

So the forward pack looks promising, but the outside backs are atrocious

Thinking about it, it is very frustrating but.. The juniors coming through are impressive. They are 19, 20 etc. This year may be tough but I see a new era next year. I see what Flanagan is doing, this is a long haul job, may take a few more years with what he is building. Makes sense to get some older heads as you bring the juniors through. That is definitely what he is doing here. Would have been good to have Latu come through next year too but, oh well. There are still others.. They may do OK as a team this year or not.. I will, from this point watch the development of these young guys. I disagree re some people's view on Kyle, he is a good 7, yeah he didn't nail some things but he was always there and did nail some others. His kick metres were 387 v Luai's 326

Tonight's performance was once again very underwhelming.

The Flanagan apologists who told @KingFlanno7 all week to 'wait for the response' will undoubtedly chime in over the next few days and say 'we had a crack', 'only lost by a try', 'if Sua scores we go to Golden point' and all the excuses under the sun that they can think of.

I would say to these apologists in the mould of @Crush @redv13 @hewi
Why then did we only complete at 75%?
Why then did we defuse only 58% of kicks?
Why then did we lead line breaks 12-2 and still get outscored?
Why then did only two forwards run for more than 100 meters?
Why then did our defence look fragile each time the tigers had the ball close to our try line?

The main answer to the above is the atrocious coach we have. He has not gotten an ounce of improvement from this team than any of his predecessors and the rational supporters are starting to see that there is no hope in any onfield improvement while this nepotistic clown show is in charge.

Get both Flanagans off our books ASAP.

Sorry mate but if Flanagan was playing the long game, there'd be no Guler, no Cook, No Gutho, No Allen, No Leilua and most certainly NO KYLE.

He is playing the young players because he has to, not because he wants to, he has bought more than his fair share of washed up players and used them as pathway blockers.

Flanagan also seems to have a disregard for the longevity of these young players. Toby and Ryan are both edge forwards and should be learning to run damaging lines as second rowers and potentially 13 if necessary. Instead they are being used as battering rams and this is already having a toll on both physically. Obviously Ryan is out for the season and Toby seems to pick up a new niggle each week.
How long will they want to keep playing at the club while playing out of position?

Without the above signatures, maybe we could've afforded to sign Addin Fonua Blake, Terrell May, Regan Campell-Gillard or some other top tier front rowers. Maybe even Lomax or Hunt would've hung around for another season or two with genuine belief that the team was improving.

Fair enough, and you are entitled to your opinion on this. Ill choose a more positive route at this point. I feel OK to make that choice. Fine if you don't agree with me. It is pretty clear to me he is building something new from what he inherited. It does take some time, I may be wrong but it is what we have right now. Doesn't mean I am not frustrated, I am. If they were coming last and losing every game I'd still watch them.. so

Will you ever stop? It's a footy team we all support, but for some reason you just want to shit down the neck of not only the coach, but also the others in this forum who try to find positives. I've read this forum for quite a while without posting just to keep up with how our fan base thinks, but your posts are the most miserable shit I've ever read. You also don't post after wins. Turn the frown upside down please.

Welcome to the forum, glad I could inspire a new person to join.

In answer to your question, I will stop once there is genuine improvement in this team.

I will stop once we have a board who runs this sporting club like a professional organisation.

I will stop once we have a proper back of house structure that cultivates success on the field.

I will stop once the nepotism from board down to head coach, disappears.

I will stop once our fellow supporters start demanding success and stop accepting mediocrity.
