I think that Weyman and Merrin will make it. Jamie I think has blown it, Brett will be a shoe in. Cannot see Benny Creagh getting a look in.

Tricky was on the NRL on FOX show last week and he said several times he wants to create a culture around the team for a few years with the same core players every year.

When asked what automatic picks he mentioned Pierce and Gidley so it looks like the form players will miss out because Tricky thinks he is going to win by choosing the same players each year regardless of form or quality.

Looks like we are going to lose the next 4-5 series if that is indeed the case

It almost seems like the public/media and NSW selectors have good intentions every year, but completely forget them in 12 months time. The intention has always been to pick players then give them 2-3 seasons to develop at Origin Level.

To be fair, 12 Months is a long time in football and the sorts of players we have for NSW are quite hot and cold.. they get picked in a purple-patch, then replaced by the next hot thing. Whether thats the right/wrong approach, I dont know.. but there are very few players being given much of a repeat shot.

I don't want any of our guys picked Frankly . I don't give a rats arse about SOO.

Jeez........there's a bit of that going on in this thread.

Quite frankly father ted, I think this year your prayers will be answered

There are no Dragons players currently worthy of selection in what is RL greatest game of all......State of Origin

so sit back and relax, it won't be an inconvenience on your teams chances this year.

For a club thats Rated only as a complete blackhole in the supreme universe of the Broncos you do seem to spend an inordinate amount of time and effort sniffing around here . Are you looking for worshipers? Or are you just a little bit terrified of those Red and White hoards you see on the TV?

I'll be disappointed if Soward misses out for game one for two reasons.

1) I think he deserves another shot based off last years series, and I don't think any of his rivals are playing good enough to push him out... If he does get pushed out of the five eighth spot, He could probably play halfback, Pearce has done nothing to retain his spot in last years series or this year at all.

2) If Soward gets picked it opens up an opportunity for Style in the halves, and probably C Stanley in the centres. A lot of people don't rate C Stanley, but I reckon he's got a lot more potential than Style in the centres, and we should be playing him there as soon as he is fit enough (even if it is through the origin period).
