Mal Meninga says Josh Dugan should stay at fullback at club level

Why the siege mentality with Meninga's comment?
He merely expressed his opinion about Dugan, nothing more than what we do every day.
He wasn't starting nasty rumours or saying anything untoward and as the current Australian coach his opinion at least comes from a person that has achieved at a high level.
With a backline full of people who play other positions at club level I suspect Meaning would have some relevant thoughts on the subject of what is the best position for those people to play at their respective clubs.
I'm sure whilst Boyd played FB for us and wing for Australia Meninga would have agreed that Boyd should still play FB for the Dragons and of course everyone here would have applauded that.
Obviously this criticism is coming from those that want Dugan moved to the centres.
Have your own opinion by all means but to set upon Meninga is frivolous.

What if Daley makes such comments? Is it ok to set upon him?
He is the NSW blues coach and has acheived at a high level?
What if Daley said something that you disagreed with. I think that you would rip into him with a siege mentality.
I think maybe you are just defending Meninga because you and he are on the same page on this issue. Just saying.

Read a few of my posts where Daley is mentioned.
IMO he is a gronk of the first order and I don't agree with him on almost all subjects.
Daley the man that picked the half back and captain for state of origin almost a full year ahead and before the current season had finished.
He certainly achieved as a player but as a coach he hasn't really achieved very much at all, when in fact he should have achieved much better with the cattle he had at his disposal.
Umbilical twin of Mc Fookknuckle for several years says it all.
The man is a fool.
However notwithstanding that I hold Meninga in high esteem as coach and being knowledgeable about the game and will quite happily consider what he says but if I disagree I will certainly do so.
After all Meninga is the bloke that deals with Dugan at the highest possible level so I expect he would know a thing or two.

So whats the point here. If you feel that you disagree with Meninga you will "certainly do so"
But when other posters disagree with his point feel you need to defend him and say "why all the seige mentality"?
Sounds to me like its OTs way or its wrong.

Nice try Crush but I have to disagree with you.
Some people didn't disagree with Meninga they just paid out on him, told him to butt out , none of his business, you don't have to manage the salary cap bla bla none of which had anything to do with Dugan's ability or Meninga's opinion that he should play FB.
No doubt that Meninga would have that opinion of Dugan no matter what club he played for as it is merely a point of view about his ability. and his best position at club level.
I considered that to be a siege mentality and I respectfully point out that, that type of argument and disagreeing with some one's actual point or reasoning behind that point of view are poles apart.
