James "Barbeque" Maloney played an absolute blinder for the Sydney Roosters against Canberra. He scored one try and was directly involved in the three others scored by State of Origin debutante Daniel Tupou. His tactical field kicking was immaculate. His goal kicking was perfect. He tackled well. Add to that the fact that he has never engaged in any "lifting" tackles that could result in serious neck or spinal injury to another player, then you can understand why Laurie Daley must consider him in place of the dangerous and reckless Josh Reynolds.
