I didn't see the game but looks like we were competitive at least.

26-0 for the 2nd half isn't pretty reading but for me nothing has changed. We are juggling some injuries but still on track for top 4, top 2 if we jag one of the away games.

History shows that these types of losses at this time of year aren't necessarily a death knell for the season and manly were due a bounce back.

First 30 minutes we were on song, then everything went arse about. When Manly scored late in the first half I feared we we shot, even though that only got the score back to 18-10. Aside from the Broncos game at home we haven't played a complete game so this result was not a real surprise. Manly turned up and for some reason we didnt.

Worse still, acording to what Fox Weekend Wrap are saying SST has injured his hand and could be out for up to 4 weeks. Doesn't look good for Toops either with some sort of groin injury he picked up and had to leave the field which looked serious. We get Cordner and Friend back next week as an upside.

"Competitive at least" doesn't really cut it for a side with minor premiership aspirations.

Fact is with injuries or without, every time we've had something to play for this season we've bottled it. This was the Warriors and Sharks games all over again. This Roosters team has no backbone, nothing above 2nd gear. Somehow we've cruised into 2nd place but that just says what a mediocre comp this is aside from the Storm.

Pearce hasn't played well since about half time in SOO2, maybe after all these years it's finally broken him.

We have that "imposter" tag about us, no doubt about it. In a way I'm glad we've got the Storm next week. No time like now to find out once and for all if we''re just making up the numbers. If there is a positive it's we are playing like the Sharks did last year, winning a lot of games while not playing anywhere near what we are capable of.

The injuries are just cruel.

Finally, maybe, about to get Cords and Friend back and now we lose SST and Toops.

Why why why!!!

Our left edge was unstoppable, the rest of the team was poor however.

I agree with this. Our left side attack is the one shining light at the moment, pity Toops will be out until the finals probably.

I was bagging him last year but to his credit he's turned it completely around and I'm happy he's still with us, unlike those potatoes Guerra and Ferguson.

Luckily the whole comp except Melbourne are imposters, maybe we'll fluke through the finals and they'll get 6 or 7 suspensions and injuries and we can Bradbury our way to #14

Yeah I don't disagree with your assessment, we haven't put an 80 minute performance in all year. Good thing for us is that no other team with the exception of Melbourne has been consistent either.

I do think that the hysteria I have seen on other social media platforms with this loss is over the top though. The previous 3 weeks were quite good given injuries (the 2nd half of last week in particular). With the current finals system as it is, history shows that it doesn't matter how you play in the last few weeks of the competition, it only matters that you make the top 4 and then from there it matters how you play.

Do I have faith that we will go up a gear in the semis? Not really, but given the sharks woes we are still on track for top 4 so you never know.

We're a funny ol' team this year. To be fair, injuries have buggered our season. Just hope we don't embarrass ourselves against Storm come Saturdee night.

Manly dropping to the Tigers just shits me even more than we've lost to these hopeless merkins twice.
