poor ground, small supporter base, ltd corporate appeal. Only thing they seem to be able to do right is get a good coach and assemble a decent team.

ps I do like Manly town and seafront though!

Whats not to like? Superior toughness, skill, ability, coaching, support, grand finalists win or lose, fear instilled in other teams supporters and players, commoraderie(spelling?),location(who the fugg in their right mind lives in s/w shitney), the ability to laugh at tosspots who STILL think we are the silvertails and the fact that we are are very very very bloody good football team.

Manly finally have a good CEO, though I can't see him staying too long in a toxic, incestuous environment. Des Hasler is a very good coach but when the CEO and Hasler go in a couple of years if not before, so does Manly unless they fix Brokevale ASAP - probably Sunshine Coast or bust. Can't see a pollie agreeing to a $50m stadium rebuild in a safe coalition seat until the Bears are back in....too much backlash.

I'm not anti-Bears but I can't see that happening. Not enough visable and/or vocal support for it to happen, at least at the moment. The longer they are out, the less the chance.

No, Manly are a horrible club. They had the repeated habit of buying the competition back in the day, they got rid of the Northern Bears and have had some absolute thugs in their team. It's no surprise most people are hoping they get done this weekend.

When Manly loses a top coach there is another one to fill the void. Bozo appeared to be irreplacable yet after getting over the hurdle of the Northern eagles days, Des stepped in. Toovey coached the Toyota cup side to a minor premiership so could fill the void, Cliff Lyons has also expressed an interest. I think he'll start with the lower grades but shows promise with his experience in the A-grade comp.

Wasn't David Penna their coach that year?

Tooves has only coached NSW Cup, methinks.

I think Tom shines started a thread shortly after the first manly rabbits game stating DCE would never make it as a consistent halfback.
