I have no doubt that Peters is getting this into the media with the intention of finding someone to sponsor Stewart. I doubt it is a whinge.

The problem in this one is obviously Peters who seems to be trying to drum up sympathy for Stewart.

It's that sort of article that will do the opposite of what Peters intended. I'd be livid if I were Stewart.

Just another case of footballers living in a bubble and not realising how this looks and sounds to the outside world.

Guys

In going to set up a bank account where LU members can donate money to help buy Brett stewart new boots.

I'm going to present them to Brett personally at his narrabeen waterside home, along with a hug that will be on behalf of all rugby league fans....hopefully this can help cleanse his soul.

PM me for the bank account details.

Regarding the title of the thread, rather then the news article and thread conversation.

Jamie 'to good for origin' Lyon would have to be the biggest whinging captain in the NRL. Every time a penalty is awarded against them he is questioning the ref. Just get on with the game ya sook, the ref isnt gunna change his mind.

Just like that whining midget Toovey.
Manly scum have been looked after by the referees and the ARL/NRL for decades and they still whinge.

And Manly fans? Seriously - the ugliest, witless, unhygienic, soulless, deluded, moroinc scum that the world has ever seen.

The Manly club has always been a blight on what us to be a great game.

The TURDS at Brokevale are not only on the field.

hahaha yeah Gallen, Andrew Ryan, Cam Smith or even Civinoceva for that matter never question the ref.....
Manly must be at the top of the table this time of year when everyone has their daily rant about how much they hate them.
And what an ARSEHOLE that Jamie Lyon is for wanting to spend time with his family. He should be drawn and quartered.
How about Matt Cooper? or Ben Hornby? Lynch them too?

As an avid Manly-hater it's really gotten to the stage where I don't blame him. I've never seen a team get so many dud calls consistently.

There's a pretty decent list of games off the top off my head that I can think of that Manly has lost from ridiculous decisions (note not shoulda, woulda, coulda decisions. Actual 'how the f&*k does a pass that goes 15 metres forward to give the team a winning try not get called up' like Parra vs Manly). They could probably fill a highlights reel with WTF moments for decisions against Manly in the last year.

And Manly (excluding Matai) isn't ill-disciplined. They're just tough as $hit. Unlike the Roosters who are morons and have no idea how to play the game.

Now I'm gonna go stab myself for defending Manly.

I like your rant and you're pretty well spot on. However, Matai has conceded a total of 2 penalties this year (though to be fair one earned him a week on the sidelines) so I wouldn't say he's any more ill-disciplined than most other players.

It seems that every few weeks we get an apology from the Harrigan (or last year it was Finch) for disastrous calls, often by video refs that have had 16 views of the "try". Most notable this season were Jamie Lyon's knock back against the Cowboys where we lost by 2 and the Merritt touch back when he had his foot planted outside the field, you could also add the Foran knock back last week. Add to that the Spaznier knock on try last year, the Parra 10m forward pass that won them the game and the Orford obstruction against the Titans. Thankfully this year Manly have usually been good enough to put the game out of reach of blind refs.

Fair dinkum Ronny, a Manly player/official/supporter could donate a kidney to you and you'd still hate them.

It's just a game.

Well said, except for the last line. Give yourself a pat on the back.

I would hope they wouldn't offer it either. The world would be a better place without scum such as yourself.
