Manly Premier League - 2007

I know the 2006 Season aint over yet, but I was bored so I decided to think about season 2007! Here is the Manly 2007 Premier League side I would chose for round 1, 2007.

1. Mark Lennon
2. Andrew Everingham
3. Sam Key
4. Rob Toshack
5. Wes Tillot
6. JP Cherry (c)
7. Aaron Groom
8. Phil Morwood / Jack Afamasaga (only if he signs)
9. Matt Ballin
10. Adam Cuthbertson
11. Mark Offerdahl
12. Mailangi Styles
13. Glenn Stewart

14. Jason Wells
15. Nathan Tutt
16. Glen Hall
17. Sione Finefeuiaki
18. Chris Trembath
19. Vic Mauro
20. John Grieve
21. John O Sullivan

Thoughts?

IMO, backline is fairly young, will really need to prove themselves in 2007. However, plenty of forward depth on the bench. Not a bad side. Hopefully 07's Jersey Flegg will have some quality backs, because if they don't, its off to the market we shall go ;-)

I'm predicting a top 4 finish for the PL Boys from Manly Warringah :p

We should go all the way to the grand final in pl next year. Why? No Witt the guy who single handedly lost us the game against parra, he dropped that many balls and all his passes went straight over the sideline.

Meaney would be a moral for a wing/centre spot. Surely. I know he's had a few injuries this year, but as far as I know he still has a contract for next year.

WTF was I thinking not putting Meaney somewhere in that backline

Yeah I'm fairly happy with it tbh. I think we need to sign a few more backs however. The cupboard is a bit bare in that aspect.

WITT's game winning contributuons during the coarse of the football season as a whole, drastically contributed into putting Manly into a position where they were in THAT game for a chance at a grand final appearance in the first place.

I agree with you 2TB. However, he's no big loss as we've got Aaron Groom in JF who'll fill the shoes left by Witt. Groom will contribute to the team 5 times more then Witt. Can't wait to see him play next year.

Groom has massive shoes to fill and can only fail.

Carrying over from your Zittboy. He'll be fine. Even if he fails miserably, he still would have accomplished more then faaarkwitt ever will.
