worst term in the game is "benchmark".....there is no such thing. There are good teams and bad teams, but no benchmarks.
Benchmarks do not get smashed 50-4 in melb. Sure, a "benchmark" can lose a game, but no by 46 points...hence benchmark is a load of BS

"Benchmark" is the most inaccurately used term in RL. A benchmark is something that you can compare against. It does not necessarily have to be the best. In fact, it's often an average.

The closest thing to a "benchmark" in league would be the most consistent team, (preferably but not essentially performing around the middle of the table). If team X performs consistently from week to week, then you can benchmark how your team goes against team X, against how other teams have gone against team X. The thing is that no such team X exists. Every team is inconsistent, and different styles of play mean that regardless of consistency, there is no way to accurately benchmark in league anyway. Charlie Saab is right... there is no such thing.

Manly is having a sensational season, ok we lost to the Dragons and we lost badly but we'd just a bye so we lost momentum the Roosters also lost to the Dragons. The Broncos are hardly the benchmark this year they've lost more games than Manly, with the Storm game Lockyer had to be handed the ball to score.

I think you may find you will be tested quite a bit.

Manly has been a smart team this year, and it is no fluke they are top of the table. The broncos start favourites, but this $3.00 they are offering for Manly to win is far too good a value to turn down.

The Raiders were a bigger challenge. At least thay were genuinely in the game until the 70th minute. Once the Storm get some pressure applied they fold like a Cheap Suit.

Weve beaten the Warriors in NZ. How did you guys go against them?
Weve beaten the storm. Same question as above.
We beat the Sahrks with 12 men for 50 minutes. Broncos just scratched out a win.
We beat Canberra who up until that point were undefeated. Infact we handed the Warriors, the Storm, the Sharks and the Raiders their first losses.
We did get beat up by saints. There were some factors there to be considered. We were coming off the bye. Only one team so far this season has won coming of a bye that has disrupted their season. Saints finally produced a strong performance. Manly had probably started to let the good press go to their heads. And we played absolutely sh!thouse. A far cry from the way we have performed in every other match so far this season.
The Broncos did just scrape through for a win against the same team.

While i can understand you not being convinced of our credentials, to write us off as a team that has played nobody is a bit unfair. Especially when most people agree that any team can beat any other at any time.
Ive seen nothing in the Broncos form that suggests they are travelling any better than Manly.
