Peter Peters at centre of Manly Sea Eagles missing fridge controversy
A MISSING fridge is at the centre of allegations made against Manly Sea Eagles stalwart Peter Peters by a former club sponsor.
Steve Reilly, a former police officer, rugby league player and founder of the Reilly & Sons Food Services group, refused to comment today but confirmed he was considering taking the matter to police.
For his part, Mr Peters said he would "absolutely welcome any investigation" and the theft claims were "nothing more than a slur against my name".
While Mr Reilly declined to comment, the Daily has seen a series of colourful emails between him and prominent Queen's Counsel Christopher Branson about the appliance, which was supplied to the NRL club to keep sports drinks cold for the players.
The fridge was removed from the Sea Eagles' Narrabeen headquarters and stored in the garage of a friend of Mr Peters.
In his emails, Mr Reilly alleges the fridge was removed without permission and used for a purpose he never intended.
