i gave roobo the benefit of the doubt last weekend..but again we lost.. its not that he plays bad at fullback, its just the WHOLE team doesnt gel with him there.. its definetly time for a change... wolfman or bani..

Only thing he lacks is the catch and pass in a backline movement. He's either not quick enough to get the ball on or can't draw defenders in to create something out wide, both which Stewart is an expert at. This is why we don't look very fluent in attack at the moment. Other than that he's doing a good job.

Wouldn't mind seeing Lyon take the roving role in attack. He's done it a couple of times this year where he's gone to the other side of the field to help with the attack but it'd be beneficial to the side if he did it permanently, with Robbo going out to the wing and Williams/Bani to the centre position whilst in attack. Revert back to Robbo at fullback and Lyon right centre whilst in defence.

That's a lot of positional changes when we really only need one.

Robbo is our usual left winger, perhaps one of the best in the competition. He knows that position so well, much of what he does is just instictive. For example, barely even having to think about it, he knows......when to drop back, when to come up and also when to slide, in defence. In attack, he combines beautifully with our regular left centre, Steve Matai. He also is used to latching on to Matt Orfords grubber kicks from out there.
From his usual position out on the left wing, he's become very adept at reading the game, knowing just where he has to be and is an enormous asset to the team.

However at fullback, he is a liability. He's been given ample opportunity to show he can do it. Five times this season he's been picked there. He has not scored a try and Manly have lost every single time. Now I'm not laying the entire blame at his feet, but the fact remains......So far this year, when he has played in the fullback position, Manly has lost. Perhaps by sheer coincidence, when he has gone back to his regular spot on the left wing....Manly have won.

There is nothing anyone can do about Brett. If Gong is right and he's out for the whole season, they have to find a permanent replacement.

So far in Dave Williams's absence, Michael Bani has struck up a good combination with Jamie Lyon on the right side.....so leave him there. Robbo needs to go back to his usual position on the left wing. Therefore that leaves Dave Williams to go to fullback.

The Wolfman will bring a completely different style to the fullback position, something they need right now. If nothing else, his kick returns will be harder, faster and more direct than both Robbo and Brett.

The season is fast slipping away. They need something to spark them into action. I honestly believe that moving Robbo back to the wing and putting the Wolfman at fullback....is just the thing they need.

I dont trust Wolfmans position play, ability to organize the defense, or confidence under the highball

Now i know that he does alright under the highball on the wing but one on one with another winger is different than standing dead with a spiralling bomb coming down with 3 backrowers charging through

I heard a rumour that Milton Thaiday could be heading your way soon. Anyone else heard this?

Toopi? I haven't heard that one. How is he going to solve your fullback problems?

Also i just read that Gallant has just been added to the Tigers 25 man squad so i wouldn't read into that rumour

Someone was mentioning Toopi on the Sea Eagles official site, they seemed pretty certian, i dont put any weight behind it imo and think if we are indeed signing anyone it will be Thaiday

I think Thaiday will fit in well with your style of play. If he can stay injury free I think he will be a very good signing.

Any idea what kind of time frame the Eagles are putting on it? The sooner the better IMO.

Well his playing in group 3 atm, so if he signed i'd doubt he'd be in that good a shape, so it might take him a few weeks to get up to some sort of level of fitness

When the Roosters signed Koops, there was a bit mentioning Crisp won't be leaving the Dogs and hasn't requested a release yet.

There was talk on Fox Sports today that Stewart's knee is worst than first thought and he could be out for the season.

Anyone know anymore about this?
