Manu - 200th game for the Warriors

The Warriors facebook page ran a video of his team-mates doing Manu impersonations today...it took all my will to not post 'what are the odds of these clowns impersonating him on the training paddock and on the ground instead'.

I honestly do think they'll get up for it and win well today. But by no means should anyone talk about it being a turning of the corner or a shot across the board for the rest of the competition.

You're on fire today mate.

In all seriousness Manu is an all-time great wing in the NRL his record speaks for itself and his weaknesses overplayed IMO. No other Warrior is as elite IMO, not even Stacey

So are we in agreement that the club should pay pretty much whatever it takes to sign him on a 2-3 year extension? I think he's more valuable to the Warrioes than he could be to any other team, he's the heart and soul of the club and management should open the war chest to keep him, unless he wants to go elsewgere.

Always big love for Manu, hopefully he never goes anywhere else and stays with the Warriors for his career. Wouldn't be surprised if he snuck off to the Super League in a few years or something though.

He is such a champion though, I actually think he has been better the last couple of years than he has been in a long time - would lose so much if he was out injured. He puts in one big run almost every set, really lays a great platform. Plus he is always odds on to score close to the line. Plus a really great guy and fantastic ambassador for the game. Would certainly be one of the weirdest sights to ever see him play for another club.

So Manu hattrick today, tempted to put a sneaky bet on, but the odds were only about 15/1. Still, if he manages it he becomes the Kiwi all time highest try scorer on his 200th game - plus we would almost certainly win.

Just thinking, no player puts up with more unpenalized rubbish in the tackle or as much rubbish from 'fans'.

Definitely the best Warrior of all time for mine.

Firstly, congratulations to in my opinion our greatest ever Warrior. A committed, passionate, hard-working guy who has come back from injuries, the 07 match that would've killed off others, and worked his arse off to become one of the most consistently performing wingers in the comp - not that anyone across the Tasman would acknowledge it. He is the true epitome of what it should mean to be a Warrior.

Secondly, this should be well timed for some of the bludging younger guys (one in particular of the same heritage as Manu) to pull their finger out of their arse and contribute. Coz you know, being paid shitloads and having the honour of playing for the Warriors clearly isn't enough.

If they can't fire up and beat a fringe eight/non-eight side at home in the great man's 200th, I just think I'll go watch the ANZ Championship or something else that gives me less agony.

Well it would be nice to think it'd rate an extra effort from the boys, but they have already had his 50th, 100th and 150th games - and they lost all three of them.

One record he can look forward to though - if he gets more than 10 tries this year, he'll be the first player to have a try tally in double digits in 10 consecutive seasons.

What unpenalized rubbish are you referring to?

Definitely agree with the 'fan' hate, heck even a couple of guys here lay into Manu when he gets the odd dropsie and then disappear very quickly with their bs

100% for his playing ability and what you've said there. As others have said, Manu is the Warriors. I'd be prepared to let him go on one year too long for all he provides and has provided.

If our salary cap doesn't allow and he wants Japan rugby type money to go, I'll be gutted but I'd wish him every success. He owes us nothing after 200 games of dedicated service.

Another reason why Ivan Cleary is a genius. Lesser coaches would've let Manu hit the scrap heap after Parra 07 but Ivan helped him become the player he is.

Haha thanks mate

I'm stoked a lot of other people see Manu as the ultimate Warrior (I can't put out the fire). Stacey might well be the best purely in terms of his on-field contributions but he never seemed an enthusiastic figurehead and face of the club. Manu has won that many Clubmans of the Year I'm certain they'll rename it after him.

Prophetic regarding the turning point. A good side smashes the Tigers with that possession

Glad for the win and for Manu though

Our forwards are going really well and missed tackles are way down on previous years I think.

Get poor little homesick Tomskins back, one of our real wingers for Wright, Hurrell a bit more game time, Johnson in form, cut out the silly errors, and bring on the Origin period, and we might look like a top 4 team.

A lot of potential the warriors. A lot of potential (and a monster forward pack).

Yeah forwards are really doing the job right now. Looked like we were over the top of them down the middle of the field for most of the first half. Evened up in the second but still a great effort. If SJ is going to start shining he's now finally got the go-forward he needs to do it.

It has calmed down a bit now, but at one point he would often cop stuff around the head in the tackle and it would never get pulled up.

Our forwards aren't bad, and yeah on our day we'll trouble the likes of the Roosters, hell we should've beaten the Broncos who are travelling well etc.

Consistency will get us, or lack thereof. About 2-3 guys in this team have had multiple good games - Matulino, Chad, Manu, Hoffman, and Lolohea has been willing every week. Rest are a real mixed bag of lollies. Which means we'll fight out top eight at very best as per the last few years. We've beaten the Tigers, Raiders and Eels - all bottom eight sides.
