Mark Gasnier - disappointing return to league thus far?

In an effort to be fair (most from NSW have enjoyed the forum bashing of G.I.) - let's look at Mark Gasnier, once upon a time arguably the best centre in the game until Greg Inglis came along. We have laid the boot in to G.I. who represents the Canetoads though Gaz hasn't set the league world on fire since returning and once more tonight looks a little flat.

He looks like his role is to play from dummy half and defend out wide (we know that isn't his role, but thats his game at the moment). A waste of talent. The LH side of the Dragons is their favoured attacking side though they need to get some clean ball to Gasnier who just isn't getting quality touches.

Thoughts?

He's past his best, can't believe talk of him being in SOO. The NSW centres should be Idris on the right & Jennings on the left

he basically walked into a premiership last year, rather than earning one. Hasn't really set the NRL on fire since his return. His face doesn't even deserve to be on Tazos anymore.

you people are idiots if you think he wasn't the best at his position in one point in time.

he is nothing near his best at the moment, will take time.

Slow start for him to start the year, weather tonight didnt suit him. Cant say i expect him to get back to his best but he can still provide some good attack for us with improvement

I'll always remember big chin for two things:

1. Being toey and ready to splurt sauce in the back of a cab at 3am
2. Being rag dolled into touch by Pat Richards in the 2005 preliminary final
