OK indulge me. I know these cats will all be tainted now but let's keep an open mind.

Sheens wants to add another rep player to the roster next year. There will be a few cut loose from the Great Southern Pretenders... Who would you like to see in Black, White and Gold?

Cronk? The missing link...
Slater? Great fullback but a total grub...
Inglis? Also known to have enjoyed life as a fullback...
White? A prop. Lordy, a PROP!

(Maybe we could hire a fake beer tent and just buy the lot of 'em for a couple of years?)

Seriously though - how does this debacle impact on our recruitment for 2011?

Lord knows- still have to wait for the full situation of how it happended and the degree of any player / player agent collusion in the 2 sets of books. I'd suspect here are 14 other clubs sniffing around too plus o'seas and RU interest. WT would have to play their ace card of being a clean club with good community relations etc. Maybe seriously look at the injured players and make hard decisions to free up money to make good offers within the cap even this year incase any Storm players go free agent now.

Player in danger- Tuiaki- severe doubts on his ability to recover to what he was. Tupou and Cayless- experiments that didnt work Career ending injuries suffered in England remain career ending injuries here in fair Australia.

Players in spotlight for a favourable offer- Lima /Iglis possibly Cameron Smith- he can kick goals too

Farah & Marshall are on big money

Lote, Ellis & Galloway are all on very good money.

There is alot of under 20's guys in our top squad for the simple reason of keeping and developing talent under the cap space as well.

I would think we do not have alot of room for moving especially with Lawrence coming off contract soon

We could pick up some of the 'lesser lights' though. I reckon WT should reignite interest in Lima. We almost had him for 2010, we shouldnt let the effort and work slip from our grasp if an opportune moment arises from this debacle.

Sika Manu would not attract mega cash.

If there were one Storm forward I would love to get it would be him. Getting Ryan Tandy back may be the other option.

Problem with Manu is that we have alot of back row talent already on the books for decent periods

I could ballpark based on opinion but I have no specific facts other than Galloway was signed to a deal in excess of $200k a season for his first contract. Lawrence would require an upgrade I assume as he wouldn't be on that much considering when his last contract was signed

It was widely reported he was on 220k for his first 3 years to get him over as an unproven youngster. Interestingly McDonnell was bagged for this, for reasons I still can't understand. Galloway apparently re-signed for not so much more as re-payment for the injuries he suffered during that time. Even so, with the cap at 4.1m, even an upgrade to 300k isn't what it was 3-5 years ago.

Lima would likely be another Kaufusi in my mind. Not that he wouldn't be very useful considering we played with 1 prop last week.

If I could get Cronk to the tigers I would give up a lot for him (not re-sign Tuaki and get rid of Daniella, Cayless etc..). Cronk's game would suit us down to the ground. Put him in our 7 a possible backline for next year would be:

Marshall
Cronk
