I think you'll find we have a large mob of players earning around the 200-300k mark per season.

Heighington, Tuqiri, Gibbs, Galloway, Ellis, Fulton (I wouldn't be surprised)

Throw in Marshall and Farah who are around 400k i'd guess. that'd take us to around half the cap used.

Lawrence will get an upgrade, if Ryan's form maintains, he'll look for an upgrade too.

Personally I think we'll struggle to find any room to fit anymore players in, or to find anyone to drop, other than el cheapos Brown, Daniella, Moors, Cayless (Combined, if they are all on minimum contracts, thats 220k we could free up). If we have some space free under the cap after upgrading Lawrence, then I say we should have a crack at Cronk.

I wouldn't bother with anyone else there, including Inglis.

Cronks on a five year deal and apparantly he dropped his contract price just to stay there.

I can't see how they can let a player that reduced his asking price go, and keep the ones that took them over, it would be worse than spitting in his face. Not to mention they would still need to pay out his 5 year contract.

I would go after finch, cheaper and off contract. He's not Cronk but A solid player with heaps of experience and passion.

Finch was quoted in the papers some weeks ago before this erupted that he wanted to go to ESL- no doubt chasing the dollars. He wont go to another NRL team this will be aperfect opoprtunity to get in on the ESL for him.

Actually, I'll want Tolman. He'll be a stud for years, him and Gibbs can start and be our workhorses and Galloway + Fifita can give us that real punch, the two metre-eating monsters with good offloads.

If I could get Cronk to the tigers I would give up a lot for him (not re-sign Tuaki and get rid of Daniella, Cayless etc..). Cronk's game would suit us down to the ground. Put him in our 7 a possible backline for next year would be:

Moltzen
Ryan
Lawrence
Ashford
Turqiri
Marshall
Cronk

That would be an awesome line up.

If we can't get Cronk I would go for Tollman.

It was widely reported he was on 220k for his first 3 years to get him over as an unproven youngster. Interestingly McDonnell was bagged for this, for reasons I still can't understand. Galloway apparently re-signed for not so much more as re-payment for the injuries he suffered during that time. Even so, with the cap at 4.1m, even an upgrade to 300k isn't what it was 3-5 years ago.

I know, I found it had to say such a thing. However it depends how he comes back from injury. As one official once told me when we lost Pat Richards you can only pay so much for a winger under the salary cap. We have a highly paid winger and I doubt we will be anywhere near the offers that TNT gets both from NRL and Rugby.

If we didn't waste money as we do we might be in a beter position to pay better or buy quality.
Seems we buy anything just to spend our limit and have them sit in lower grades most the season anyway.
Cronk would be handy and I'd swap Brown,Daniela,Cayless and Fitzy for him at any chance.
