Wests Tigers Coach Tim Sheens has named Benji Marshall at five-eighth and John Morris at hooker for the round seven clash against Cronulla at Toyota Stadium on Sunday, April 27, at 3pm.

Marshall returns from a knee injury suffered in the round one win over St George-Illawarra Dragons. His return is four weeks ahead of schedule.

He will be joined in the halves by Mathew Head, who has retained the half-back position, resulting in the versatile John Morris moving to hooker. Stuart Flanagan, who played hooker against Souths last Sunday, has been named on a five man bench.

Flanagan announces he's signed elsewhere for next year and is instantly dropped.

hahaha.

I'd rather Flanagan starting at 9 and Morris wearing the 18 jumper

A poster on here is good mates with one of the players
Farah isn't a cert not to play this week. If Farah plays, head is the one to miss out.

If that was the case i think id rather farah miss out. at least with the team sheens names all the players are in their respectable positions. if farah was in and head out, sheen's would be shuffling players all over the freaking place trying to accomodate morris.

Would not be a surprise if Head was ditched should Farah play. Perhaps Head only got the nod in the first place, because Flanagan got dropped? Would much rather Flanagan than Morris. I just want Morris gone, ASAP. Don't care that he is adequate (barely), in a few positions. He takes up waaaay too much cap space, and is not worth it. Would prefer to see someone younger, cheaper, that can get better, than a million dollar mediocrity that has had years to peak at ordinariness. If he was on under half the coin, he might be of value. Want to see him as far away as possible in order to run the contract out. Every week he is shoved into a position, especially in front of a more promising player, increases the risk that WT will be talked into another chunky contract extension. Don't blame Flanagan for quitting. Being stuck behind Farah, is bad enough. Being 3rd string after Morris is an insult. I suspect we won't retain Head after this year either. WT is likely to procrastinate, on Sheens' advice, allowing his value to skyrocket. Head can then be let go, as we can't "fit him under the cap", what with the more important priorities. J-Mo can then reclaim the Crown, for 09, and beyond. McDonnell again at wing. Bugger.

Morris at hooker isn't too bad.

The alternative is playing Flanno and Halatau in rotation and while both these guys are great for 10m darts, they lack enterprise/ball playing skills. Johnny Morris is also limited in this respect although his few years imitating as a half has shown that he some, albeit limited, understanding of the playmaker role.

Agreed Morris is an adequate Hooker. At least he does the least amount of damage there. He is an alright utility. On a cheap 1 or 2 year contract, he might actually be a good buy. But he is on massive $$$, and signed for too long, for what he brings. It would appear he gets what Sheens rated him for, in potential Halfback awesomeness, not what we got.
