Up by 12 with 10 to go so what do you do? Go down the blind side off the scrum and get taken into touch with a full set of six up your sleeve.

16-all with no time on the clock so what do you do? Try a chip and chase in your own half and give the ball straight back to them.

He is 28 yet still has NO IDEA how to close out a tight game. That isn't f**king good enough.

Little wonder we signed Anasta. Bag him all you like but he would have closed that game out not made two of the biggest bone-headed plays you'll ever see.

Marshall in that game looked like the best player in the whole comp but it was on him to close that game out and he didn't.

Not happy.

I thought he was great. Yes he came up with some poor kicks but he led us for 70 minutes of that game.

I don't know what he was thinking at the end of that game - I just think he thought he could do whatever he wanted to because he was killing them.

You took the words right out of my mouth Hybrid. I logged on to say the same thing. We don't have one person in this team with the brain to close out a game. I am sure with Anasta playing today we would have closed things down. I guess I have to accept Anasta so I was wishing he was in the team today.

When I say there is no one in this team with the brain to close out a game I am including Sheens. He coaches them to do the most ridiculous things. He is just as much to blame for this. Geez, put the word out to kick to corners or something, not the BS they served up.

We are f@#$ed when placed under pressure. We look good leading by 20 but when it is tight you can bank on some one in the team or the coach making the wrong decision...

Meh, souths pack absolutely slaughtered ours for the whole game. Sure benji was silly with those options, but i'll be f**ked if i'll blame him for the loss

Rubbish, most of our pack played well except for a couple.

Marshall was Braindead in the last 10 minutes.

Much like the semi-final past year, running the ball on the 5th with two to go.

He never learns.

Discipline and an inability to defend for more than 3 mins at a time cost us the game

The pack put in but they rarely busted the line. We lacked punch out there. BMM was an exception - when he runs it the line gets dented.

Marshall was unbelievable out there - not many players play to that level. He didn't close it out but he was far from the only one out there who stuffed up.

I agree but you can't tell me Marshall wasn't Braindead at the end of the game.

The penalties and defending on Luke's second try was a disgrace.

No surprises for guessing who was responsible there.

I don't know what else you'd have expected from him... 16 all with ten seconds on the clock and he finds himself deep in his own half but in a little bit of broken play.

He chips, he chases, it looks good but only for the most fleeting of moments.

If it had've come off you'd all be lining up behind Ray Warren and Phil Gould to get his autograph at full time.

you have to take the good with the bad. benji may make some silly errors and be too flamboyant when he should be shutting down a game...but on the other hand its that x factor which makes him so good when the chips are down.

i dont think the tigers are necessarily playing as badly as their position on the ladder suggests. theyre a dangerous side and will come back.

given robbie is back next week, they will atleast put up a good fight against the broncos. it may sound silly to say...but they need to learn a little bit of "boring" footy. when youre 12 ahead with five to go...you just kick it dead and wind down the clock.

Souths fluked it today and 9/10 they would not have gotten that result. In any case..plenty of time to turn it around and keep yrselves in the hunt for a top 8 spot. Its a tight comp and i have a feeling your team will be there to face my dragons in the semis hehe :)

As a Souths fan let me say we were lucky today. With 5 minutes to go and down by 12 you should never win. We have experienced what you went through today in our 1st round game against the Roosters. So I know how you feel. Times can only get better for your team and mine.

As for Benji Marshall, well he is the most overrated player in the game. Not saying he isn't good. Just not as great as some, like Phil Gould like to make out. You would swear the two of them were having a love affair the way Gould carries on about him.

Pretty much it. He plays on instinct, I don't think you want to change that.

Benji is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma: but perhaps there is a key?

That key is hopefully the Tigers best interest ;-)

He was unplayable for 70 mins, but lost his head the last 10.
That's where we badly need a halfback to take control. Kick to the corners, set up for the FG after that scrum 15 out in front of the sticks with 7 to go.
And then again in extra time - that set of six was an absolute disgrace. 3 or 4 passes hitting the turf FFS, zero structure, rushed kick. We deserved to lose it from there, regardless of how ugly the FG was.

Hate to criticise him, but Benji blew that game for us - and not for the first time he's failed to use a brain when the game was sealed.

Humble has to take responsibility too, though I thought he looked good otherwise at half. He's the halfback and responsible for guiding the team alongside Benji.

In saying that, Sheens is most to blame. How he has coached this guy for eight years and still can't get him to use a level head at critical times in the game is beyond me.

Great NBA players are clutch players. Benji is not a clutch player and that is his coach's fault.

In many respects - he was also the one to keep us in the game.

You cant just have the attacking flair without the F8ck ups.

I mean this kid hasnt really played many close matches when you think about it - generally we wim by plenty or lose by plenty.

Keeping also in mind that our spine has been decimated and after spending an entire offseason with Molzen at 7, Farah and 9 and who knows at 1.

He was pretty much left to do it himself.

Dont be so hard on him.

Yeah i cant blame Benji either, dumb piggy back penalties and under 5 defencive errors were the things that really cost us. I think it was Lukes 2nd try when i seen players make a tackle then turn their back to move on side... School kid stuff.
