Mason linked to Crusaders

Somehow I don't think Willie would enjoy living in Cardiff... it doesn't strike me as his kind of scene? Maybe he'll surprise me, and I guess he could hang around at the Bay like he hangs around the Clovelly Hotel in Sydney...

the crusaders have just moved from bridgend (south wales) to wrexham (north wales), nowhere near cardiff.

he would be a great signing if there is any truth to this. he would bring much needed publicity to the team and the code, and if he gets anywhere near his best of a few year ago would absolutely smash it in super league. the crusaders have never attracted a big name player from either code, how could signing mason be negative?

Mason is a class A tool in my book and i celebrated that great hit Kidwell put on him. But i'd have to admit that Mason signing for the Crusaders would be exactly what they need on and off the pitch.

Serious? Wrexham? Wow... I thought there was talk they were moving to Newport. Can't see Willie living in North Wales either...

Just ask the Sydney City Roosters that same question.... Mason hasn't seemed interested in being back to his best, his time with the Roosters could lead one to believe he is mostly interested in his pay cheque and being a destabilising influence.

Well Wrexham is near enough that he could live in Liverpool or Manchester or somewhere like that. It's only about 1 hour from Wrexham to either of those places.

How good are Nick Youngquest and Frank Winterstein?

I dont know a Frank, but Antonio is quite good. Plays for the Broncos, solid, does his work and has some speed.

Nick Youngquest probably has been considered a failure at NRL level. He could never find a solid spot in the NRL. I think when he left the Panthers, Dogs and Tigers (think he played for them), he was rather easy to replace. Theres no reason to say why he couldnt go further though. But there will always be better options.

Raynor won't sign for anyone, him and his partner have committed over £100k worth of fraud and he's facing some serious jail time.

Looks like the Crusaders have snapped up two more players.

Tony Martin and Michael Witt and I see they have signed Tommy Lee as well, not sue how effective the Mötley Crüe drummer will be but hew could bring some cash with him ;)

Just to add a bit more content it seems that these couold be really good singings for the Crusaders. Tony Martin will bring a lot of much needed experience to the Crusaders and will be able to help the younger players along. Michael Witt seems like he will bring a lot of attacking potential to the team and a kicking dimension as well. Could really e the boost the Crusaders need.

In my opinion the last four signings for the Crusaders have been absolutely terrible, i want to see Crusaders and Wales RL as strong and successful as anybody but if that is the quality of their signings then they will finish a distant last again.

Nick Youngquest - has a bit of speed but nothing else, rejected by 4 or 5 NRL clubs.
Frank Winterstein - plenty of potential but yet to prove anything more than a reserve grader.
Tony Martin - should have retired three years ago, no size, no speed.
Michael Witt - has some ability but too inconsistent and a year in Union won't have helped.

Martin and Witt are not too bad, they are pretty experienced first graders and better than what they had last season. Agree on Youngquest and Winterstein. They had some very impressive signings lined up, but the ownership fiasco put a lot of the players off.

With Youngquest, he was cut from the Wests Tigers without playing one NRL game for them after requesting that he miss a trial game in order to do a photo shoot for Abercombie & Finch in the USA. Don't expect much.

Winterstein is a very good pick-up.

Yes, Martin has seen better days.

Witty is a star and once settled in will deliver the goods!!! After the Warriors strangely dropped him they hardly won a game.
