Are you fighting the Balmain - Wests war ? I thought you were a Titans fan ( there aren’t many of you) spending the majority of your posting time here trying to justify where they built their stadium

I’m mainly referring to the Balmain Tigers board members who are about 80.., they must be due to stick their heads up from the grave once again… no one else seems to care much these days
I was a Tigers supporter before SL war ( wasn't really into it that much though) mostly just loved playing. Around after SL was when I started working and became more of a fan than a participant ( which was Wests Tigers) . I only followed the Tigers because of my brother and when the GC got re- admitted into the comp with the Titans and brought my favourite player ( Scott Prince) ,I figured living on the GC most of my life that I'd follow the Titans, even went to their first game at Suncorp.
I was a staunch Tigers fan and went to a few games on the hill but that area of the city was changing rapidly way back then and today resembles nothing of the Balmain it once was, only a novelty niche like Newtown really.
The point is: After all this time, it still doesn't work, hasn't found an identity that's clear. In fact it's going the other way! Seems less like Tigers or Magpies than when they first formed. Seems like travelling rodeo full of Islanders and Penrith expats. Throwing out any chance of long term players or making clear who they represent.
The Gold Coast are running dead last but I know where they're from and who they represent.

Well .. you have found a new club well and truly now … so good luck with the Titans moving forward … there are certainly many question marks over there continued lack of success .. we’ll see if the next clean out currently under way brings any joy…

its your opinion that the JV hasn’t worked …I believe they remain a popular club in Sydney as evidenced by the amount of media focus and clickbait articles about them …they did also win a premiership more recently than half the field has ..

They are having a bad run on the field this past few years no doubt …I primarily blame the terrible previous management of Pascoe and Lee Hagipantellis for this … Richardson is seemingly turning things around although the progress is slow on the field…. At least he has established an independent board …severing the total control of the Wests dinosaur board ..he has secured an upgrade of Leichhardt and is working on Campbelltown… they are improving the squad but it’s hard yards … your Titans can attest to the difficulties of getting out of the cellar

All the publicity they get in Sydney is cause of Balmain and their legacy

Wests were a nothing club forever

Nswrl didn’t kick them out for nothing

Pratten park to lidcombe oval to Campbelltown oval for a reason

Balmain is dead mate… have been 10 years . The old fans have moved onto Wests Tigers …

I don’t know one fan campaigning for Balmain to come back into the comp, and certain not attached to Easts Brisbane

Yeh because the reds 3 years of history compares with a combined 106 years for Balmain and wests

Keep up the good work pr
Little to do with Reds (most of todays RL fans in Perth were not here when Reds played) and more to do with parochialism, identity and ownership.

Seems to me Tigers bring the brand, the fans and the corporates and Wests bring a LC backing. Not sure either could survive without the other.

Healthy dose of racism in this post.

Why am I not surprised.

You have no way of knowing that. He didnt share that level of detail. You're assuming all LC have open books to cover the FC losses?

This is the reality of what happens … the salary cap and a little more is funded by the NRL … what is not funded is the coaching staff, junior pathways and one off payments for getting rid of people ..( the Tigers have had some experience here ) …the prior losses Richo is referring to is linked to paying out Sheens, Scott Fulton and Pascoe’s contracts

South’s and manly are proof tigers could

Magpies to cambeltown and tigers to easts Brisbane like bears re Perth

It’s a tough one

Mates a magpie and supports wt asked him if he’d like magpies to take it over he said he would but his kids grew up wt

Club doesn’t know which area it represents and has a split personality

Same for dragons

You would never support a merger of hull clubs and these clubs are only 40 yrs younger than the hull clubs

Mate you’ve answered your own dilemma …. Your old buddy is confused but the kids think differently …who is the future of the club ?

For me the future is a demerger lol

Best for the clubs themselves and better for the nrl

Campbelltown and Wollongong are neglected

Inner Sydney doesn’t need the tigers so much

Southern Sydney is mainly sharks and south’s

There needs to be a club in the South West …Im sure they plan to play 8-9 of their games there when the stadium is eventually improved …

I don’t know if wiping the slate clean and starting over does them much good … don’t even know who the owners would be …

I think if Easts Brisbane joins up with another new Brisbane club like the Jets or the Firehawks ( lame name ) , than this thought bubble disappears in a hurry

They don’t train there

It’s almost a fifo team their set up is concord

They can’t represent Balmain Ashfield and Campbelltown

Dunno if it’s wiping the slate clean they can take on the previous history of tigers magpies Steelers and dragons

That might be a positive for some players …
The biggest issue with gws is they were based at Blacktown and hated it so moved to Homebush

Campbelltown isn’t too bad plus not hard to get too on the m5 from southern Sydney

Population is booming

Whichever club targets Liverpool and Campbelltown is on a winner down the track

If dogs get Liverpool stadium tigers time in Sydney will be on its last legs

We ‘ll see when that happens then …eventually Accor will be renovated and some teams ( Dogs are 1) are going to need to play out of that to make that worthwhile you would think …I think Liverpool is dead when that happens if not already

It’s part of their da application of 1200 units but it’s gone quiet

If they get the funding it’s a massive project

Belmore Bankstown Homebush and Liverpool

That would be a huge geographical base

Tigers will still be playing in five home grounds and trying to work out which they should focus on

Crap nrl clubs are going to get left behind even with a salary cap they will get left behind by the mega clubs
