I was a Tigers supporter before SL war ( wasn't really into it that much though) mostly just loved playing. Around after SL was when I started working and became more of a fan than a participant ( which was Wests Tigers) . I only followed the Tigers because of my brother and when the GC got re- admitted into the comp with the Titans and brought my favourite player ( Scott Prince) ,I figured living on the GC most of my life that I'd follow the Titans, even went to their first game at Suncorp. Are you fighting the Balmain - Wests war ? I thought you were a Titans fan ( there aren’t many of you) spending the majority of your posting time here trying to justify where they built their stadium
I’m mainly referring to the Balmain Tigers board members who are about 80.., they must be due to stick their heads up from the grave once again… no one else seems to care much these days
I was a staunch Tigers fan and went to a few games on the hill but that area of the city was changing rapidly way back then and today resembles nothing of the Balmain it once was, only a novelty niche like Newtown really.
The point is: After all this time, it still doesn't work, hasn't found an identity that's clear. In fact it's going the other way! Seems less like Tigers or Magpies than when they first formed. Seems like travelling rodeo full of Islanders and Penrith expats. Throwing out any chance of long term players or making clear who they represent.
The Gold Coast are running dead last but I know where they're from and who they represent.
