No changes to anything

Hopefully the next coach gets the players having a dig

Josh Hannay is favourite

Brad Arthur and wellie Peter’s also good options

If Webster said the are relocating he’s an even bigger dope than I thought he is loll
Relocation is a bullshit fix all rolled out by flogs all over this forum and throughout the media. The gold coast is prime rugby league territory. Webster is just creating a narrative to fill in another Saturday afternoon puff piece.

They need better than an unproven NRL coach …how often does that work for a bottom club?

So Brad Arthur then …great

Someone who works on pathways and gives juniors a chance is what they need / a good at developing younger players

Preferably a qlder cause that club doesn’t have enough qld identity

Why would old Balmain fans support a club in a different state because they wear a similar looking jersey?

I don't know, ask the Bears fans in North Sydney

That’s a huge bridge. IFYKYK.
Bears fans are supporting a club in a different state because they are wearing bears colors and logo.

Oh and Brisbane Tigers aren't wearing something similar to Balmain, they had the exact same jersey and logo as Balmain since 1917. If there are no Tigers left in the NRL and Brisbane Tigers come in with the exact same jersey and logo, your kidding yourself if you think there aren't Tigers fans that jump on board. Not 200,000 like the Bears, but some

Anyway, it's not happening so all hypothetical

No self respecting Queenslander would suddenly follow Balmain if the cases were reversed.

I also think you fundamentally misunderstand supporters, graphic design isn't what binds them to the club.

If my team changed there name to the Shitbirds, and started wearing poo and piss coloured jerseys, I would probably be upset but never stop supporting them.

If Easts Tigers were in the NSWRL for 100 years, fell into decline and were replaced with Balmain who modelled their very identity on that of Easts... jersey, mascot, logo... You'd definitely get some, purely for nostalgia. I didn't say heaps, I said some.

In the unlikely and completely hypothetical situation that Wests demerged and Brisbane Tigers came in, they wouldn't rely on Balmain fans for support, they'd have plenty in Brisbane, but there'd certainly be a higher than usual support in Sydney than for other new QLD teams like Tits or Cows.

West tigers has more fans than Balmain and western suburbs. Fanbase is younger and will out live fans of those former clubs.

Whats your tip of what will happen this time ? I’ve heard rumours of changed jersey/colours , a move to Western Corridor from Andrew Webster ..

I’d keep them on the Gold Coast… but they need a shake up..it’s clearly not working… putting in someone like Brad Arthur as coach and doing nothing else is a road they have been down a few times already

Need concessions for local talent

Balmain and wests last season was 1999. Haven't been making fans since then. West tigers have made all their fans since that date. Hence, younger fanbase.

Even some ( most ?) of the existing magpies and Balmain fans in 1999 have now moved on to the Wests Tigers … it’s a reasonable assumption to make
