Rogers to open ALF season

Source:
The National - Friday, March 11, 2011

RUGBY league star Mat Rogers will join with AFLPNG for a day of football at Amini Park, Port Moresby, tomorrow to launch the 2011 AFL season.
Kicking off at 9am with junior football clinics run by the AFLPNG academy and followed by curtain raisers to the main game, AFLPNG manager Walter Yangomina is excited about the day ahead.
“The day is going to be great, we have acquired a few big names that will be playing.
“Aussie Jones and Mal Michael will strap on the boots, these guys are former champions of the game.
“We’ve even got Mat Rogers playing his first ever AFL game. It will be a lot of fun,” an excited Yangomina said.
The main game at 3pm will feature senior PNG Mosquito Players playing against an Australian state level team including PNG boys on Australian scholarships.
“We’ve flown a few of our boys playing in Queensland back for this game, so the quality will be very good.”
An old boys bash featuring the “Legends v Champions” will lead up to the main game.
Former Mosquito stars will get the chance to have a game alongside former Australian players.

Gee you're all hard markers ... don't begrudge the poor old bastard an opportunity to make some hard earned ... playing kickball with a few unfortunates hardly constitutes the fuss.

He already has. He is now old and slow and just ripe for Fumbleball!
Just needs to to put some butter on his fingers, drop every ball ,& definately not kick straight ,& he will star..
Shoody will probably sign him up ,if he can kick 5 behinds .
