Yep, the very antithesis of what every Titans fan expected. There were no excuses to be eked out of that calamity and Saints played well.

Too small, too disorganised and too apathetic in their attention to detail. Des has his work cut out. The fan base, the dwindling fan base, won't stand for too much more of that malarky. Yes it was only round 1 but when you are dishing up the same rubbish as last year then patience isn't in huge supply.

Boyd was woeful and Weaver, although thrust in at the last moment not much better. The big disappointments were the forwards other than Tino and Randall. Palasia was ineffectual while Fermor, Clark and Verrills were more of a hinderance. The rest, meh. Two weeks to work out where to next but as well as AJ went at right centre, he is our best fb by some distance.

The loss of Fifita and Foran rendered the Titans rudderless. The Gold Coast halves were more concerned with their last play kicks than playing football and the Gold Coast relied far too heavily on crash balls. The Dragons were pinching themselves when the Titans tried that option with Randall.

The only time they looked likely was when they changed the angles. The only managed to do it one time and it yielded points, unfortunately they couldn't hold the ball after that.

A very disappointing start, will have to see how they respond after the bye before making any bold predictions.

Not sure what we will roll-out against the Dogs. Foran for Weaver was a no-brainer while Jolliffe at lock is at best a surprise as ball-handling his hardly been his forte ... sounds like a tactic from Desneyland and I am expecting some last-minute shenanigins. Should be a pretty even contest.
