How does this happen in professional sport. They get paid heaps.

Maradona was short and fat and had a massive cocaine addiction. The talent pool in soccer is so much stronger than basically every other sport in the world.

Talent trumps everything but it's not something to rely on is it.

This has got 50 point flogging written all over it. There's no way we'll get more than 30 minutes out of Hunt. I can't believe he was picked to start. We would have been better off starting Seyfarth in the middle and playing Bird on the edge.

The bench is craptacular. No TDS? There's no way Api will be able to play 80. At least not well. What is Naden doing there? He can only cover wing or centre, so I can only assume that To'a is touch and go otherwise this makes no sense at all. And if To'a is 50/50 then name him on the extended bench and pick him on game day if he's right.

Marshall has lost the plot.
100% agree that bench is rubbish, Bird can cover any position in the backrow and 5/8 and centres, a winger goes down centre to wing Bird in the centres. Benji’s shuffling positions and a couple of interchange decisions has got to me the last few weeks now he just goes in with a stupid bench. Might be we have some wounded outside backs going into the game that they have doubts on

I'm hoping the bench is a smoke screen for roster changes before kick off.
God help us if it isn’t a smokescreen.IMO it’s the shittest bench in the NRL.Seriously how bad is this sport going to get re blowouts when the expansion teams start playing. The strong clubs won’t be affected like the rest of the teams whose rosters will weaken markedly.Hence the gap between the powerful clubs & the rest is going to be vast.

Big game in the context of the season. Im prepared to write Sunday off as one of those days but if we're going to do that the guys have to show something Sunday.

Souths have been going well playing very basic footy. They complete, kick and wait for opposition errors or penalties. In attack they dont throw a lot at you, more so rely on individual players doing something i.e latrell. They wont thrash us, highest theyve scored is 28 this year.

Toa is a huge in for us, up against Tass whos a poor defender, we'll throw lots at that side. Im not as concerned about our bench as others. Pole has been poor the last 2 weeks, his defence has fallen off a cliff. I think Hunt can easily play more mins as can Sione. Sukkar will come on and then push Seyfarth into 13 whos more suited there then out wide.

Heavy rain predicted which probably suits Souths. I see this as being close and a try or less in it. Interestingly Souths have won all 3 games theyve been involved with decided by 6 or less, we are 2 and 2. Luais short kicking game has given Latrell nightmares over the years so watch us do a few early ones.

Wests by 2.

On a brighter note, last season it only took to the second trial match in preseason before the 'we didn't turn up ' line was used, at least this year the team got to round 10 before not turning up to play. If the team want redemption from last weeks embarrassing effort, a dominant performance is required by all not just May and Bulla.

Good to see Reuben Porter back in the frame, although he is named only on the extended bench.I think he has a bit of ability and offers more than Seyfarth.
Red at best is a bench player that can come on and do a bit of tackling , his attack is ordinary and not up to first grade standard ,not to mention the dumb penalties he gives away.IMO its hard to justify why he is the team.

One of the first picked for mine. He goes hard. I'd like to see him on the bench though because we need more weapons in our team.

We actually got to rnd 14 in club games last year b4 a blow out , also our defence has leaked more points in 2025 in comparison to 2024. Surprising fact , we haven't leaked this many points in 10 rounds since i think 2020 😲

That's a big surprise. I didn't know that. I think it was about 4 weeks ago I was commenting, on average, we were the 3rd best defensive team. I wonder if defense has dropped off across the board for all teams. Vic was saying this is the weakest comp in some time with very few high quality games. Looks like this is proof

I think when you look at our For and Against we look better then previous years , but thats only because we are scoring more points on average... But yes looks like defence across the board is slipping ... AKA set restarts .

The crackdown on head contact maybe has made tacklers shy of heavy contact.

Overrated TDS , why ?
Hope-Liddle > tds
TDS isn't playing is he. The bench is
14 B.Naden
15 T.Sukkar
16 J.Bird
17 Si.Fainu

Can you make sense of this or has there been a change?
Why isn't Faataape playing instead if broken Naden.
Why is LG playing instead of putting Mason at ½ and Luai at ⅝.
Why, why why are we playing this bench bla bla bla bla
