Fifita has turned around to be the biggest f**k up we've ever done regarding re-signing wise. But to be fair he was a bit of a merkin so at the time so it was the right decision

However now...hooly shit

Without him Cronulla don't win last year

The same will be said about Tedesco in 2 years or so

I'd argue it wasn't the right decision. At the time, we lost Bryce Gibbs who was the heart and soul of our club, alongside Fifita who was our best young forward prospect. We traded these two for colossal lemon Adam the fairy Blair - that bloke makes Aaron Woods like he's a bikie. How good is hindsight...

Fafita has been gone for 5 years or so and has been a goose up untill the grand final..after a year or two at the sharks he agreed to terms with the dogs only to have Des can it because he was shaping up to be more trouble than he was worth ( at the time)......there would have been little chance he'd still be here now regardless of the Blair thing so its not worth agonising about if only

Packer, Vaughan & friends are going to kill us through the middle. Might be ugly. At least Woods should back up alright since he only got about 20 minutes for NSW.

Yeah I reckon Vaughan is going to destroy us trying to prove a point he should have played Origin. He's been the best Prop in the game this year by a wide margin IMO.

Rankin and eisenhuth drop off

Marsters and MCK named as reserves, really hope one of them comes in for Edwards as the bench really lacks any impact whatsoever

Dragons have Widdop, Dugan and frizzell all playing

In all likelihood we'll get pumped.

Wests Tigers coach Ivan Cleary warns fans not to expect to much from Tui Lolohea

WESTS Tigers coach Ivan Cleary has pleaded with fans to be patient with new recruit Tuimoala Lolohea.
Lolohea will make his club debut against St George Illawarra on Saturday and start at five-eighth less than a week after being granted a mid-season NRL release from the Warriors.

He has signed until the end of the 2019 season and Cleary insists the Tigers faithful shouldn’t expect too much, too soon.

“We’re not going to see the best of him for a while, we’re not expecting him to perform miracles. He understands his role, but he’s going to have to work into it,” Cleary said on Friday.

“He’s had three sessions now today. It’s not a lot, but again, we just want him to turn up and be himself. I’m sure he’ll improve as he gets used to what we’ve got here.”

Since making his NRL debut in 2014, Lolohea has yet to string seven games in the one position as he shifted from fullback, centre, wing, five-eighth and the bench.

“Tui’s a kind of guy who’s played a lot of different positions already in his career so we’re looking to give him some solidity in that spot,” Cleary said.

“I think that’ll be good for him and good for us and give him a real chance to focus on a role and be comfortable in that role in this team. That’ll give him the best opportunity to be at his best.”

While Cleary is buoyed by the addition of Lolohea, he will be forced to field his fourth halves pairing in seven games as Luke Brooks continue to recover from a hamstring injury.

Jack Littlejohn will wear the No.7 jumper against a Dragons side that are likely to be boosted by the return of star duo Josh Dugan and Gareth Widdop from injury.

Dugan came through unscathed from a month-long absence in Wednesday’s State of Origin win for NSW, while Widdop has trained strongly after recovering from a knee injury.

Their inclusion means the third-placed Dragons start as raging favourites against the 15th-placed Tigers, who are hoping to avoid a four-game losing streak.

Cleary denied the Tigers were reaching a desperation point in their season.

“If we just look at the ladder or the end result each week, it’s more to it than that. We’re looking to develop some progression and parts of the game that we haven’t been doing well,” he said.

“If you don’t get that right, then you won’t get the results. It’s not all about the results for us. Certainly that’s what we want, but there’s building blocks we need first for that to happen.”

I heard Cleary talk about him in the coaching interview on the website. He didn't say anything like what the headline is stating.

I hope this guy can play though.

Many of the players Penrith now have were on the back of Ivan Cleary. I am prepared to support any decisions he makes with the building of our club. Cleary was a smart player and I think he is a very smart coach. If he can see something in Tui well I am happy with that too.

Did i hear right that Mary MacGregors mother died this week?
Not to make light of it but surely we'll see an extra intensity from the Drags tomorrow in tribute. Could be a world class flogging coming up.

Yep that's right.

Some extra incentive for them to really go to town.

They do have a beast of a pack. Vaughn will be looking to prove his dominance over woods for origin. Widdop back. Another new haves pairing for us. All signs pointing to a proper flogging. Can only pray for rain like the broncos game, it might limit the scoreline a bit!

Esan Marsters is playing. Ryland jacobs let it out on instagram which im sure the club is stoked about lol

He wont change the result but will nice to see some fresh blood and impact off the bench

I'm stoked for that inclusion. Replacing Edwards I hope?

You would hope so mate but have a bad feeling it might be Felisse

I'm thinking Liddle might be the unlucky one tbh.

Surely not even Taylor would go into a game against the Dragons with a bench of Grant, Marsters, Edwards, Liddle yet alone Cleary. We need all the size we can get
