Mbye doesn't look to have a role apart from bench utility. I'd love to see Tommy kill it in the centres. I worry he lacks some pace but he has looked good on the wing.

Still we will have to carry Mbye's contract for a while like we've had to carry Reynolds contract for a while. No club is going to take the under performing top dollar players that we have for anywhere near what we need to get to release them.

That’s why I’d rather play Mbye at fullback and make him work for the money. The contract is signed so why not use him to potential while he’s still got the legs?

It’s not like we have anyone better atm.

Mbye was actually going ok at fullback until injury got him. He is a better defender than AD and much quicker too. Attack wise, I’ve seen him support up the middle numerous times (more scoring ops)...unlike AD. He can only get better under Madge.

Sadly, I can’t say the same about Reynolds...

@League WTF - Mbye offers a lot more than Reynolds. He is a first grade utility player. The problem with Mbye at the back is that he was dropping the high balls consistently. I reckon Mbye's best position if off the bench.

I don't see an easy solution to our cap problem other than just waiting for those contracts to finish.

I reckon Mbye has show his best individual form at fullback but the problem for us at the time is he struggled under the high ball and we had Nofa and CT on the wings so we had the shortest back three of all time which other teams exploited. Add to that his tackle 1 and 2 plays are fairly weak as were CT's so our sets were always struggling from the start.

With Talau or another big strong winger it might be worth trying him at the back again as I reckon AD will move into the halves next year if Benji pulls the pin, he just doesn't have the speed to take the chances a fullback should

Totally get what you’re saying. I just feel like he is being wasted especially with the money he’s on. Taking high ball is something you can work on but speed isn’t.

I’d prefer to see our $950k player going hard out there instead of sitting on the bench filling gaps, or doing jack all in the centre. Imagine what the other players must be feeling and not to mention that he is our captain.

Although Mbye isn’t worth that much money IMHO but he can score points. We need to boost our attack asap if we are to have any chance.

Grant and Benji can only do so much...

@League WTF - I agree with you but AD to me plays tough and he has to be in the team somewhere.

Our attack is basically non-existent unless our forwards roll over the opposition. Our forwards are pretty good albeit inconsistent and they can do this but we saw what happens when they don't get over teams last week. We have next to nothing in attack.

BJ is a threat though.

Let’s see AD with the new combination.it could work better for him with some momentum .he’s elusive and has a nice pass step and catch
Mbyes not a game changer or try creator at FB AD can be.Remember that subtle delayed pass a couple of weeks back that sent someone through for a try. That was special ..Mbye couldn’t do that..and that long pass for Nofos try ..So he’s got it

I like AD too and he def deserves a spot in the team. But I don’t think FB is it. Forget pace and the ability to punch holes, I’m starting to worry about his 1-on-1 tackles after the past weeks.

Yes, it’s good to see BJ back. We need all the strike power now and Madge knows it. Interesting week indeed with our new look backline. I hope Talau and Bj kills it

I think AD is just in a bit of a form slump at the moment, he needs to regain some confidence. I don't think he has made too many mistakes, it's more that the ones he has made have been very costly, that's dented his ego. I think he'll continue to develop.

Hope what you’re saying is true and I’d love for him to prove me wrong...but soon as the season is slipping away from us.

Perhaps I just don’t want to see another failed experiment with AD at 1, like Brooks at 7.

(Please Brooks - Own that no.6 jersey this week!)

All I want is the Tigers to play finals football again. It’s been way too long...

I can see Ponga giving our new young centre / wing pairing a tough first day out ...the biggest thing we have going against us tomorrow is a must win game with the doubly difficult hurdle of two players having milestone games ...could only happen to us

Though our bounce back from Madge sprays has been positive

Today’s game is pretty big for both sides, for all our woes we are still a slim chance to get into the 8.
A win puts us back to 9th, on F/A with Manly.
Incredibly the warriors are right up our clacker, though they are a game in front of us.
All old news now, but the Titans and Warriors losses have certainly cost us big time.
The team never makes it easy, does it.

I’m as drunk as the Tigers posted ten posts in last weeks thread :joy: at least it’s not quite as painful with a few sherbets under the belt

I’m done with this organisation madge should leave so this shit hole of a club doesn’t mess up his record in the game. Too many clubs in Sydney west tigers should be a club to shut up shop, what a shit club, shit players and shit staff. Love footy but this club are making people hate the game. F##k off
