its YOU WERE pop.
Your showing your Claymore upbringing now.

Depends on the grammatical text of the sentence - you was is fine in this context.

Burwood, chimp (inner west, as you say). Not a westie like you - OLD, OLD Lidcombe/Auburn boy, I finks.;)

Some of us still work to survive ole fella, so that's it until I check on your unintelligent, unfunny (except for you (the mule) & your dog) posts tonight. Now have your granny nap and refresh that tired old grey matter.

f**k we were almost neighbours.

I always had you as a crony of the Neal Bros Inc (Berala Bears)

Mate, I'm so old I can remember when they were building Westfields with faint memories of the old Astor Cinema on the block where they built the f**ker.

I should have continued to hold your scruffy head under the water at Cabarita or Ashfield pool when I had the chance (only would have got about 10 years) but you kept screaming "Momma, Momma",

Remember the milk bar across the road from Westfield & Burwood Park and the pool hall above the shops half way up Burwood Rd towards the station?

Shit, they were good times - the wild, wild west (we were not the inner west in those days)

I actually lived at Croydon Park..close to Brennan's panel beaters on Burwood Rd for 25 years.
My parents retired to Port Macquarie, and I purchased a townhouse in the area.
I swam at Enfield pool
Played cricket at Henley Park for Pine Inn Magpies Cricket Club and league for the E Feds.
Burwood had 2 theatres i at Westfields and 1 on railway parade, and yes I remember the pool hall.
Dad use to take me to Pratten Park to watch Kelly,Parish, diamond,Cody ,stonestreet etc
There's more but think I have shocked u with my knowledge.
Pop,I know the area with my eyes closed. So I should

Geez ur bringing back great old memories of my youth.I went to school opposite the nthern side of the park & I bought my 1st tennis racket from the greatest female sports women this country has ever produced the peerless & wonderful Betty Cuthbert(may she rest in peace). For a little while she had a tiny sports store on the western side of Burwood Rd approx 1.5 blocks up from the park.

I can't remember the name of the fishing tackle shop at the top of Burwood rd which was named after the lovely gentlemen who ran it but I used to purchase used slazenger tennis balls from him.

That's right thanks for that it was Barry's.He specialised in fishing gear.Geez he was a real nice bloke. At the front of store he always had a box or two of quality slazenger tennis balls that has been used in competitions but were still in great condition hadn't lost much fabric & cost next to nothing.

So you weren't a real Concord/Burwood boy. Yeah, I remember the other cinema it went down well after the Astor was knocked down. It and the funeral home (where I should have made you a permanent member) were leveled to build the Plaza.

Yeah, remember the Pratten Park games - myself, brothers & some friends snuck into the change room after one day, wandered around for about 15 minutes before old Ned spotted us and yelled " What are these f**king kids doing in here". It was hilarious.

Mate, I could have given you 5 metres start over 100m as a kid and still beat you and still could even though I have no ligaments left in one knee and buggered ankles - your V8 supercharged walking frame wouldn't help you, you silly old fart.

Yep & I was at st Mary's b4 CBHS Burwood then did my HSC at CBHS Lewisham.

Sounds like you around around my older brothers age. I went straight to Lewisham because Burwood wasn't going (and I believe never did) to Year 12 or 6th Form in our days.

Imagine a little 7-8 year old walking up to the Burwood station than travelling to Lewisham - doubt it would happen theses days.

Use to play handball there most weekends.

Michael Clarke's old man (who was a real good friend of my brother) went there too. It actually produced a number of real good crickets.
