I reckon if you look back at the replay, Barnett was probably standing ready to have the shot anyway. He is practically our 2nd choice kicker after Mullen.

Hodkinson kicked the FG to take us into GP against the Raiders and has kicked multiple pressure FG's for the Bulldogs in recent years. He should have taken it over a one-legged Mullen without question.

You're misunderstanding. We're not saying he shouldn't be the one to step up and take it, however he doesn't seem interested in doing anything for us kicking or ball playing wise so we're not shocked the ball didn't make its way to him.

Some blame also needs to fall at the feet of the dummy half who threw the pass to Mullen. Not sure if it was Phythian or not, but whoever it was didn't do the team any favours.

It's been a trait of our team all season- a lot of the time the ball ends up in the hands of the wrong person at the wrong time. No doubt it is largely due to our halves not taking control of the game and demanding the ball, but I also think it partly comes down to the inexperience of our hooker and not making the right choice or simply not knowing what to do.

I'd have to look back at the replay to see who was in position making themselves available to take the shot. From memory, the shot was slightly to the right of the posts and Mullen was in position to the left of the ruck.

I don't recall seeing Hodkinson anywhere nearby at that moment. But I'd have to check it.

The set up we should have if we were a competent team, is ball to the left of the post, Hodko to the right as the first option, Mullen in the pocket on his left hip if the defence rushes up. But ofcourse we aren't a competent team. Brown raised a good point about the fact that because we aren't physically good enough yet, we aren't mentally good enough either. Sounds like he will give them a real flogging in the preseason.

Worth noting Brown did point out in the presser that the ball went to the wrong half, so it wasn't a plan or anything to have Mullen kick it... thankfully.

Not sure why you'd want a right footed kicker to the right of the posts.

I think it's easier to quickly catch the ball and kick from getting the ball from your left if you're a righty, opposite for a lefty.
No, just the opposite

Ideally for a kick you want to catch the ball out front and not on your chest and on the same side as your kicking foot. Essentially it can hit your hands and you can drop it straight onto your boot

Edit - nevermind, you were agreeing with me. Need some caffeine. Agreed, and the flight of the ball is generally easier to manage if you're allowed a bit of hook on the kick, instead of trying to kick across the face, much like goalkicking.

Is Tariq playing? That's all I really care about for this one. F***ing belt him.

Also hope he gets his classic round 26 suspension to be out the first 5-10 weeks for the Dragons next year.

Awwwwwwww... Fair dinkum, People with attitude like this only drags the game down... Time to grow up... Brownie's a good coach , it's the roster that he had to work with... You can't win the Melbourne cup with a pony.

Just a note on the Broncos v Titans final. I thought it was Broncos v Knights for a while there, the amount of bad luck and shit calls going against the Tits was pretty bad.
