That wasn’t a trick that was remotely available to be taken. A Really dumb tackle from Hastings. The only reason it was challenged was coz Madge thought “it was a league tackle”

Hastings getting 3 weeks for that, but 2 of our guys get cannon-balled and potentially f**k their knees/legs and it's alright with a fine? Damn judiciary.

I'm going to the game cos it's local but 6pm is a bitch of a time. I think we lose and play the Warriors back into form (think that atrocious game in Gosford last year).

The good news is I can go down to the fence and yell a tirade at them and be done attending games for the season should they lose, poorly, like I expect they will.

Tigers team: 1. Daine Laurie 2. David Nofoaluma 3. James Roberts 4. Oliver Gildart 5. Ken Maumalo 6. Jackson Hastings 7. Luke Brooks 8. James Tamou 9. Jacob Liddle 10. Stefano Utoikamanu 11. Luke Garner 12. Luciano Leilua 13. Joe Ofahengaue 14. Tyrone Peachey 15. Alex Twal 16. Zane Musgrove 17. Jake Simpkin 18. Thomas Mikaele 19. Jock Madden 20. Alex Seyfarth 21. Starford To’a 22. Tukimihia Simpkins 23. Austin Dias 24. Ruatapu Ngatikaura

Ok, so with Hastings suspended, I think we hit the switch and either promote Madden to play 6, or give Peachey a crack. I'd hook Roberts and give To'a a chance in the centres. I didn't notice Tuialangi go off injured last week so I'm perplexed that he's not even in the 24 - maybe COVID protocol? Liddle back gives us some speed at dummy half but he's not an 80-minute player which Api will solve next year. So I think Simpkin keeps his spot for a 30-minute spurt.

My tip: Warriors by 10

f**k it - play Jock Madden at 7 and move Brooks to 6. Tell Brooks not to bother with any sort of game management and just run the ball and play whatever is in-front of him. Give that Rua kid a shot on the bench and have him share minutes with Simpkin.

If Madden wants to play NRL so badly, this is his chance to show what he's got. If he's better 7 than Brooks, then demote Brooks when Hastings is back, if not, then give Hastings a chance at 7 with Brooks continuing to play at 6.

Undoubtedly it was silly contesting it albeit the rorters would’ve got a downgrade
Risk of Neck injuries/concussion is just not negotiable any more, once its past the horizontal. .. Hastings tackle was well past. I think he rammed him as well.

Not a bad idea. They could even do that without changing jersey numbers.

This is just another example of something Madge decides to do that puts us in the “Joke” category..I doubt any other club would have challenged that. It’s like 8-9 out of 10 - luckily without the injury.

So now we are the wtf entertainment for other teams from start to finish - on the field, in the presser, and now at the tribunal..I think WT have a package deal going for the warriors game..

We get you don't like Madge but take your hatred blinkers off for a second. Every club in the league would challenge that for a downgrade, there is no reason not to. If it's unsuccessful nothing changes he still gets the same amount of weeks. There's no discount for an early guilty plea he missed out on.

Apart from that yea reasonable. Although, that tackle was diabolical he’s lucky he didn’t get 7 weeks

It seems Hastings was offered 2 weeks and lost a week after challenging. Maybe less focus on the theatrics on your next reply

The Hastings suspension is laughable

I fully expect Madge to pick Peachey to replace him which means Madden is our 5th choice half

Glad to see Liddle back, he was strong in the trials

We’re missing about 6 of our usual starting 13, likely lose this by 10 or so

Laughable, I get that.

Im more interested in, if WT new the rules what argument did they use for a reduction. “Guys you know Hastings needs a bit of time to settle in”

I wrote after last weeks effort that ANY player who pulls on the WT jersey needs to be accountable for there individual and team effort. Who's in or out due to injury or suspension is of no consequence. As a professional footballer its your job to to make sure you 100% commit to the effort plays when they come your way. You don't need class to make this commitment.....you need want and pride. I accept our roster lacks overall class as opposed to other rosters. This is a fact we supporters cant escape and must accept. But I do question whether the players at times when pressure is applied subconsciously use this lack of class as an excuse for losing so many footy games?? Sure there are games when the class factor is the ultimate deciding parameter whether its a win or lose. But I would argue their are more games lost by WT when 100% commitment to effort over 80 mins is not maintained.
