I was at the game and i walked away with mixed emotions. Refs were shit, costly handling errors got me fuming at times.but was entertaining i must say,my point is that we just lack a little polish and with bird and ponga and 2 good quality fowards we will look the goods.everybody can see that the rebuild is starting to take shape slowly. Its gonna happen but it going to be another fustrating year.

In the end we still can't win a game because we simply cannot score a normal try from good field position. It's long range or kick or scrappy, but never ever a try from genuine attacking positions and creating numbers or doubt in the defensive line. Literally not once ever.

To be honest this is not my big problem. This year all teams are scoring more from outside the 22. Not just us everyone is more comfortable defending in the 22, and they are happy to concede in there. but yes our attack is especially bad there.

The evidence that confirms this is the Dogs are prepared to give up ground to contest posession off a goal line drop our and I think this is a very smart play.

We lost tonight cause Frawley played + we bombed 2 gilt edged chances, and the refs cost us another one or 2 chances as well as penalised the crap out of us in the first half.

They stay with Mbye and Reynolds in the halves I think they lose despite what we got from the refs.

It is f**king shit but I am proud. Stand strong with the boys.

It does feel a bit lie 88 again with the ref stuff...

Anyone else reckon we looked better with Buhrer at hooker then Levi tonight?

Our bench really let us down tonight IMO. Although there were other factors such as bombing tries out wide that meant we didn't get the lead we deserved at halftime. And then after the 40th minute capitulation we came out in the second half without our heads screwed on and paid the price. As is often the case with this team, when things aren't going our way we find it hard to stop the rot. That's the period where we lost the game. Frustrating.

f**k that was depressing. We were the better team in the first half and had basically nothing to show for it. 41 minutes in and we're down 10 - 6. We need to be well on top on the scoreboard in those situations if we want to win.

Brown needs to cop the 10k fine in the post match.

This. I think Brown has done the right thing and focused on our shortcomings in games where we have been stuffed by the refs since he took over. We have lost off our own cuff not because of decisions.

But tonight f**k it he needs to come out and defend his team. The presser is obviously done I just hope he did it. If he doesnt we will continue to be walked over.

Yes and no. Levi was great starting in the first few weeks. We played 2 big packs and Buhrer is a better defender in the middle.

Not so good off the bench. We need to pick a strategy with Levi and stick with it. Kid needs some stability for a year or 2.

Asked for his opinion of the no-try ruling, Brown replied: "If it was a try they'd probably still be looking at it to make it not a try.

"They looked at it about 85,000 times."

Brown added that "we're not getting favourable calls, and that happens when you're an underdog every week … I'd love to comment, but I don't have money available."

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank f**k. Well done Browny. Your boys need to hear u say that as well as the areas for improvement.

I like him off the bench. When Kostjasyn comes back I reckon we should stick with playing a good defender at hooker for the first 20 and then bringing Levi on. But he needs to bring more impact then he did tonight. Costly miss of Frawley for the try and I thought we looked generally better in attack with Buhrer then we did with him tonight. Happy to stick with him though, proabably his first bad game of the year so far.

I reckon Hodko had a good game tonight tbh (ducks for cover).

3. Gagai
2. Hodko
1. Sione

That's because Hodko actually did some attacking kicks for once.

Dane Gagai deserves 6 points for his effort tonight. That was worth the money we're paying him.

The ref's being inept, us being inept, the fans yet more disappointment and frustration - y'all have covered that. Suffice to say it does suck balls being a poor relation nrl team, a footnote each season about little battlers providing fodder and light relief amongst the serious, proper nrl teams fighting for the money and the glory. You don't belong up there Knights, know your place and play your role.

Well, this will turn one day and when it does, I hope we are arrogant, pigheaded, no mercy frontrunners with long memories. We've been doormats long enough, so f*ck the rest of em when we get back.

Brown walked pretty close in the presser to getting a 10K fine. Needed to be said, we got plenty of dud calls, no calls and video ref scrutiny to take tries off us.

But we lost the match, the end of the first half we let in that "Newcastle try" we always let in. Started second half meekly and clearly the dogs were told to lift their intensity. We didn't match it and let in another try just after half time.

I feel Levi needs to start games, thats when he flourishes, I think he struggles getting himself in to the game starting part way in. When Kostjasyn is ready, we should be starting Levi, and spelling him with Kostjasyn.

Forwards, Forwards, my kingdom for decent forwards.

Just watched a replay and damn that game pissed me off. Yes we screwed ourselves with some silly errors and the 2 tries just before and after half time should not have been let in.
But I am so over the refs giving us nothing. I said it last week and it was the same this week, we get held down for so long in the ruck and get no penalties, no chance of getting quick ball movement when we're attacking.
The Gagai hold up, yes fine, he wa held up, but I've never seen a penalty given for that rule, even when a try is scored.
On the Sione no try, just gotta ask, if you have a clear run to the line and put the ball between your body and forearm/elbow/upper arm and slide in for a try, is that not a try also?
Good to see the effort from the guys but angry to see yet another so close yet so far result.
