A win today would have been nice to create a bigger before the late May stretch.

The next three weeks before Magic Round are huge now, Raiders, sharks and storm (in current form we need to win that). We want to jag at least two, maybe all three. So we have to turn it around vs the Raiders.

Magic Round starts a three game stretch of Eagles, Bulldogs, Panthers. That's brutal and we want as many points as possible before it.

The only thing I got wrong was the size of the loss.. against an injury riddled team is embarrassing.. ..lucky not to lose by another 12+ points tho. Those 2 2nd half forward passes by Mam? would have been cleared 9/10 elsewhere and Maks brain fades.Im guessing he wasn’t calling for bullas ball this time. He maybe should have anticipated the pass tho with Bulas injury..I don’t even think the guys got a step

I know I talk too much but I have to say this.. the most telling moment for me is when Madden does the wobbly kick that is an absolute beauty. Broncos let it bounce, which it does backwards 20 metres ..it’s like a really high bounce, and who jumps up and tries to palm it off in one jumping movement but fks it up .. guess

My view is that we lost to the premiers by 1 pt. In the scheme of things, its a "good" loss.
My biggest concern is that we had so little in attack that at one stage we had our starting spine, Madden AND Latu on all at the same time. Benji was obviously lost with where points would come from and just threw everyone in.

Where we look off the pace (all year) is where we have consistent ball and field position and don't convert. We had 30+ tackles in their 20 in the first half and by rights should have been another 10 or 12 up.

Bulla, I just dont see it. Yesterday was his best game this year and to me he doesn't look like a marque fullback.
Makasini really isnt ready for week in week out first grade. Two cold drops right after each other shows he needs to build his confidence.

Both Mays and Sameula played out of their skins.

We matched it with their forwards but Im struggling with who our clutch point scoring players are.

Tough loss but Brisbane are premiers for a reason, Reynolds always has a blinder against us, if he plays for us we win by 30. The ‘depleted broncos’ stuff was total garbage, they were missing 3 starting players FFS! That’s what we had out v warriors and Eels and no one through us a ticket tape parade.

Our forwards were beasts and were let down by the halves/gameplan.

Attack in the 20 has been garbage for 18 months, this year our tries have come from 40m+ out or individual brilliance from a back rower. I don’t think we’ve scored more than 1 try off a structured backline move in the 20.

Makasani game to forget, kid probably needs a couple of games in cup.

Certainly no panic stations here, we’ve actually had the toughest draw so far only playing 1 team below 10th. Big game at Leichhardt on Thursday

I’d be giving Bula his 900k tomorrow. He has been outstanding I don’t know what games you’ve been watching, the kid has been consistently good. He needs to improve his kick returns and I would say his tryline defence (although Benji doesn’t really have him defending like a traditional fullback on the tryline, he is defending in the line a lot).

In attack he is a threat all the time, not only with the ball in hand, but just his positioning in attack is enough to put defenders in two minds. This was nullified a bit last night on our left because we had Luai running a bit too laterally again, As I mentioned earlier Staggs/Mariner did not have to defend inside once last night, it’s a big tell that the attack is too sideways.

For a half Douehi gets tackled with the ball way too much in the attacking 20

Ive been a critic of Bulla re not enough mongrel etc but I’m definitely warming to him. As for the $$ as long as I don’t hear Benji say again “that’s one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make” like I heard him say yesterday

We f**ked with a halves combo that won 3/3. Madden and doueihi would play both left and right. Luai is stapled on the left.

Not to mention that ridiculous offload off a completed tackle.

Don't like the hate Masi is getting though. Kids only 18, sure he made plenty of mistakes but most young fellas do.

Reynolds has shown wear and tear and been written off since before he left souths. He has it between the ears and combined with enough physically to make us all feel sick today. He’s one of the greats with leadership qualities any team would die for ..in a position that is forgiving to the more mature/ experienced player..let’s hope he doesn’t find it today coz he can still win a game single handedly if he’s in the mood

Big call prior to the game but he killed us.

This is our biggest issue. Benji has to figure this out. It was obvious before the game the issue is AD and Luai are not smart and consistent organizers of a footy team. They don't have the smarts that Reynolds for instance has.

He was our best spine player last season and he is our most threatening attacking player now.

Our forwards were great. Terrell and Samuela were awesome. Api was great again.

I'd be keeping Makasini on the wing and Latu at 14. These guys to me are worth sticking with.

Benji needs to figure out how to make the team work though and it's the halves that are the problem.

The loss hurts, but there is so much improvement in us

I think this time last year we got pasted by Melbourne 64-0

Our forwards have been immense and the form of Madden has caused quite a headache. I can’t remember the last time we’ve had so many good performers in our squad and it’s actually an issue

Anyways onto the next. Apparently Leichhardt Oval is already sold out which is amazing for a Thursday night. Hudson Young out is huge also

Our side has shown it is capable of scoring some good tries through good attack, however one issue with our attack is our outside backs run across field to much ,cramping the outside man, which doesn't place any doubt or confusion in the defence, just one player is needed to run back on the angle inside would help immensely. Flat footed props in our backline don't help either.

Disappointing loss.

They had a dig which is always good and the forwards are more then holding their own but like others have mentioned, its our jolted attack, especially in the 20.

I was hoping for more from Luai, since he's arrived, he's hardly set the world on fire with his performances, yeah off the field with the new culture thing is great but he should be contributing much more on the field.

Have a look at Esra last night, he was throwing balls all over the place, putting pressure on the defence, Luai...nothing and its been like that for 18 months, I hope things change.

I couldn't care less about his off the field contributions. He needs to put it together on the field on game day and he needs to do it consistently.

He has proven that he is a top performer but he hasn't had a good run with us.

Just opened the thread up to read the comments. I disappeared for a while last year because I was pi55ed off with the game. Revisited many times this year because the Tigers had turned it all around. Last week I felt great about the Tigers but flat about the no-try where a Knights player had the back of his hand on a player, now I’m off the NRL because to me, a player was tackled, ball carrying ball seemed, to me, touching the ground, when 2 Tigers were touching the Broncs player, but let’s play on.
Bunker, Linesmen and referee and NRL game day management all incompetent.
