I actually like our 1-7 lined up against the pennies. They definitely dominate us in the middle though

1. AD vs Edwards - if you asked penrith fans Edwards would be better than sliced bread, but to me he just never kicked on. Slight advantage to AD?

2. Nofo v Mansour - Nofo wins. Mansour is nothing more than a battering ram atm and Nofo is in career best form

3. BJ v Whare - BJ is light years ahead. I remember when some tigers fans were gutted we didn’t sign Whare, he’s average

4. Chricton v Mbye - Chricton. He reminds me of a young Folau...while mbye has the talent of a sloth on heroin.

5. Talau v To’o - To’o wins due to having more time in grade and has shown a fair bit, however would not surprise me to see Talau make huge strides sooner rather than later

6. Reynolds v Luai - 50/50. Maybe lean towards Luai because of youth

7. Brooks v Cleary - Hate to admit it but Cleary is just on another level this year and blows Brooks off the park. If there is ever a game where Brooks can prove his critics wrong, it’s this game

The battle of 9s will be good too, possibly NSW #9 (Api is playing better than Cook) v the QLD #9?

Nailed it. I also like that you stopped where you did and didn't compare the forwards

I hate to say it but we really need to be at full strength to compete with those top teams. You may get the odd off game like what's happened with the Raiders and Knights but those tend to be few and far between for those top four teams.

We've shown good heart since Madges rev up so I hope we stay in the fight for 80mins but I think their class will get them home comfortably in the end.

Yeah I feel the same. Basically the pennies would have to be extremely off for us to come away with the victory

Although stranger things have happened...

30-4 win to Tigers last time they met. What surprised me when I looked at the 2 teams that day was the Tigers backline (how small they were) and FMD the Tigers won.

SIX MILLION REASONS WHY THE TIGERS HAVEN’T FORGIVEN CLEARY

There’s’ still plenty of ill-feeling between the Wests Tigers and Penrith almost two years on from the departure of Ivan Cleary.

The reason? For starters, try the four-year contracts worth a collective $6 million for Russell Packer and Josh Reynolds.

With all the current talk about player agents managing coaches and gaining too much control at clubs it’s worth remembering Cleary is managed by the same company as Packer and Reynolds.

Cleary then jumped off the bus to re-join the Panthers at the end of 2018 while Packer and Reynolds remain at Concord until the end of 2021.

It’s bent the Tigers salary cap ridiculously out of shape and meant the club has been trying to shift Packer for the last 18 months since Michael Maguire arrived.

Packer still hasn’t forgiven Cleary for leaving the way he did and neither has Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe, the man who recruited the coach to Concord.

Once great mates who were regulars on family holidays together, the pair still haven’t spoken since Cleary quit the club with two years remaining on his contract.

Reynolds has ripped in at training to fight his way back into the NRL and gets a crack against Nathan Cleary when the Tigers host Penrith at BankWest on Saturday night.

The NRL is currently having a close look at stopping player agents from managing coaches.

It's a clear conflict of interest and it shows how unprofessional Ivan was.

The negative feelings towards Ivan Clearly are understandable but at the end of the day he had a burning desire to coach a side containing his son, pure and simple. It just happened to be the Panthers. If not for his son, he would probably still be your head coach and perhaps you would want to see him gone if he had not achieved the desired top 8 finishes you crave (as we all do).

His recruitment of certain players to long term deals is an entirely seperate issue but the sad reality of the lesser sides in the competition Including the Panthers the marquee players go to the big guns that is just the reality.

I’m sure even Ivan Cleary has his regrets about signing Russell Packer on a more than healthy four year deal with your club but that sometimes is the sad reality of the lesser clubs paying overs just to bring in players to the club because they simply cannot attract the Latrell Mitchell’s or David Fifita’s not matter how hard they try or how much they offer.

It is a big game tomorrow night for both clubs, mine hoping to maintain there position and your club hoping to get one step closer to the top 8.

If you guys get the two points it will be more about your current coach as opposed to revenge on your former coach.

Good luck and may the best team on the night win.
