I'm pretty sure the new rule is just an automatic fine for tripping, no suspension.

Edit: Grade 1 is a $1500 fine, grade 2 or 3 can result in suspension. Can't remember the last time we've seen a grade 2+ trip and I doubt Ponga's will be ruled one either.
dont think he even touched him did he?

I was really impressed with our forwards today. We dominated the Warriors pack in every way. Shut down their offloads, drove them back, slowed down their ruck immensely. Been really impressed with Josh King lately. Making good metres and getting quick play the balls. Gavet is much better off the bench and Ese'ese needs to be our impact guy off the bench.
Fitzy had a good game, over 100 mtrs and 27 tackles with zero missed.

How do you change that?
I think it's out of Herman or Gavet as King has outperformed them both imo. Herman is softer defensively than Gavet but a much more dynamic runner of the ball.
Once Ramien is fit

14.Mann
15.King
16.Herman
17.Sione
Ideally I wouldn't even have Barnett playing any minutes on the edge let alone the full game, firstly you gotto drop one of Gavet or King, Herman offers more in attack than both those guys put together. In any ideal world Barnett would be one of my bench forwards who comes on for Glasby, in order for that to happen either Sione needs to make the 12 his own or someone like Beau Fermor needs to step up

Gavet was outstanding today. He had a big involvement on and off the ball. The other forwards that really impressed me today were Klemmer (strong runs), Glasby (high involvement and strong D), Ese'ese (great mobility for a big guy) and King (a consistent effort)

The forwards that were OK but not great today IMO were Daniel S, Fitzgibbon, Barnett and Sione.

Well there ya go. We all see things differently I suppose. We must have watched a different game.

Gavet is a hoax , While stats dont show everything they go a large way to telling the picture- Gavets stats are now slightly better than Adam Blair ( the posterboy for imposter ) and he's played 1 more game than Blair. - If I was to drop a forward it would be him in a heartbeat. All talk no walk..... or run for that matter

I can agree on Klemmer the godking , Herman and King ( he is gaining confidence every game )

Fitz punched out 80 min and his stats were excellent some good D which was good to see from him, Sione played at right centre and stung in D, was rolling them in every tackle, 2 line breaks ( equal 1st ) 5 tackle breaks ( equal 1st ) zero errors and scored a meat pie, all from a guy playing out of position.

For me personally I really like Gavet. Doesn't really bring much to the stay sheet but he makes some really great plays. Last week he made a great tackle when Parra were nearly off after a 20m restart.

Not saying he is undropable but I don't dislike the guy.

How good is Josh King. Seems to have improved out of sight this year. Can't recognize the lad. Hope he keeps it up and makes the 17 jersey his.

I think you're probably holding players to a different standard. Gavet had 8 hit ups for 69m, 16 post contact metres and 20 tackles with 3 missed tackles, King had 6 hit ups for 48 metres, 19 post contact metres, 21 tackles with 2 missed, whereas Saifiti had 10 hit ups 112m, 30 post contact metres, 24 tackles and no missed tackles. I don't see Gavet was great and King impressive yet Saifiti wasn't great.

You know what’s awesome? Everyone bagging Josh King(myself included), and he’s copped that criticism on the chin, and improved out of sight. Really happy for the bloke. Glad to see Brown stick with him, it’s done his confidence wonders.
Browny mentioned in the press conference the influence Klemmer is having on the young forwards. King is a vastly improving player this year, while the stats dont jump out at you some of his runs, offloads and tackles have been memorable and really needed at the time.

Agreed, at the start of the year King was comfortably last on the prop depth chart out, I still think we're carrying one prop too many on the bench but the question of who gets dropped isn't as straight forward as it was previously

Pretty sure there was people in one of our forums that were bagging Brown saying he hasn’t improved players in his time here. Fitzy and King two prime examples I think

I don't believe that I am holding them to different standards. s I said, all the forwards played good, some just played better than others.

Stats tell you part of the story but not the whole story. For instance I thought Fitzgibbon and Saifiti were solid without being spectacular. I saw on a few occasions that Saifiti was taking the ball up against players who weren't coming up quickly in a line, hence the added metres that he made. Whereas Gavet was doing the Billy Peden type runs where he was taking it up against a defense that was set and making the tough metres.

I am not Gavet's biggest fan, in fact if he got dropped after the loses that we had, I would not have minded. Yesterday I saw a man who did a lot of work off the ball which allowed extra opportunities to others. Also in the tackles he made, he demonstrated good aggression. He was also chasing the ball around when the opposition had it in order to fill holes. Personally I don't want to see Gavet in the starting side again as I feel he is much better at giving impact off the bench due to having less minutes. How many minutes did he play out of curiosity?

Only just watched the game and was pretty impressed. We just strangled the warriors out of the contest. Our forwards muscled up against theirs and we starved their back 3 of the opportunity to run the ball back at us.

It was probably the most professional performance that I can remember seeing from us since that 2013 finals match against Melbourne.

There really weren’t any poor performers, everyone chipped in and did their part.

Its great to see Pearce get his mojo back. He’s running the ball really well and controlling the game.

I also thought Watson looked good, he made lots of little half breaks and looked dangerous out of dummy half. It’s a shame he fumbled that loose ball after the charge down because he all but earned himself a try there. I know he’s the whipping boy around here but he’s one of the few guys we’ve got in the side who hangs around the ball and supports the ball runner, he’s usually there to receive an offload or exploit a gap in the line. I know his skill set is limited but I like the energy he brings to the side.
