As a neutral fan, it was clearly NOT a strip. Fifita always drops the ball on purpose and plays for penalties when someone touches the ball. I've never seen a player play for penalties as much as Fifita. He got what he deserved this time.

Great game though.

Fifita carries the ball like a purse and drops a couple every game he plays, it was clearly a loose carry and at any other moment in the game no one would even question it. Moreover, had it happened at any other time, and he referred it to the video, he would be lambasted for failing to make an obvious ruling. People are blinded by the romance of Tonga.

It's all a conspiracy I tell thee..it's been planned for a month,Aussie ref for the opening game,Australia get English refs in every game after,we get English refs too and then it'll be Aussie refs,for eng,all the way through the semis & final..

Sutton will be ref on Saturday with one of ours in the box..

Australia didn't get an English ref in the semi. They had Sutton.

At the 70th minute mark I went to go get ready to head out. Bugger. Just watched the final 10 and that was amazing even knowing the result. I was going for Tonga so it would have been something else live. Kicking myself over that.

Anyway, I reckon the TPJ try wasn't a try.

I don't think Fifita's was either. Would be just as controversial if it was sent upstairs. The ball popped out a good 3-4 foot infront of Fifita, so it would be backwards off the Poms which leaves all the doubt on Fifita.

Very unfortunate it came to that but no one can say Tonga deserved to win. If they played the first 70 kinda like the final 10 they'd be in the final. Having said that England's mind had shifted to next week.

TPJ was an obvious knock on, the ball rolled ffs! But apparently Cecchin is racist...

This is the problem I have.....many people have the preconceived idea of how loose Fifita carries the ball, so every time he runs, they judge him accordingly. I cant help but think the ref is the same, as Fifita had the ball stripped on more than one occasion in the game (I recall one in the fist half close to the English line where Burgess clearly strips the ball in a 3 on 1 tackle but the ref called it a knock on). Also, I suspect many people are basing their judgement on the person himself.

I ment Aussie refs for England in semi's & final..Australia don't mind a English ref in games they have zero chance of losing...


Oh and by the was...G.sutton has been named ref and Ben Thaler video ref!

Looks like the Tongan fans hijacked the Foxsports poll on Cecchins decision, was 71% in favour that he made the wrong call...

Yet the general consensus seems to be the other way around.

I fkn hate Buzz Rothfield, the bloated old merkin always whinges about refs going upstairs too much, then the hypocritical prick was getting stuck into Cecchin as arrogant for not doing so on this occasion.

The rascist comments today are going overboard now this is getting ridiculous.
