Parra Pete is a bit of a fan of Lett, it appears that he just can't Lett go!!..lol

you still have enough strike power to do a good job on us...

agree, as I said, no excuses if we lose, we played all our trials without Cooper.
More concerned about Hornby being in doubt, and Priddis maybe getting on the field.....that's only good for 1 team and it's not the Big Red V.

He's nothing flash, but that's what I like about him.

The reason you never hear anything about him is because he rarely makes mistakes, especially in defence.

Still #1 defensive centre in the game IMO.

Completely agree, would love to see him marking up on Lote when you guys play the Tigers.

Mick Lett....5 games for Dragons, 4 tries - not a bad strike rate.
Still only a kid...Give him time, give him time....
He certainly made Hayne look good in a NSW early rep side (Under 17)

he will be nothing more than a below average first grader..

St George Illawarra are in disarray ahead of Friday night's NRL season opener against Parramatta with Matt Cooper a definite non-starter and skipper Ben Hornby in doubt.

Cooper aggravated a hamstring injury as he attempted to prove his fitness for the Parramatta Stadium blockbuster while Hornby also failed to take part in the team's final training run in Wollongong on Thursday.

"Benny Hornby's just had to sit out, he's got an infected wisdom tooth, they're pretty painful," lock Dean Young said.

"We're confident he'll play."

The potential double blow forced coach Wayne Bennett to undertake some major reshuffling of his squad, with starting prop Matt Prior running in the centres in place of Cooper and hooker Nathan Fien deputising at halfback for Hornby.

Former Bronco Nick Emmett is set to come onto the bench, while veteran rake Luke Priddis will start at hooker if Hornby fails to overcome his illness.

COOPER OUT, EMMETT IN

Dragons center Matt Cooper has succumbed to the niggling hamstring injury that kept him out of the trial matches, and will be replaced by the versatile Nick Emmett in the starting side for the clash with the Eels.
