A few years ago there was some big wraps on this guy..

What's happened to him since? He scored a try for Leeds the other day in the US. Isn't he a Hooker? Is he a chance for the World Cup or is the Hooking job a certainty for Roby...??

he blew his knee out playing for GB a few years ago (2004?) and as had niggling little injuries that ruin his season every time he comes back..

as you say he's now fit again and back playing,if he stays fit he's a shoe in for the england world cup squad along with roby, i think we'll only take 2 specialist hookers,roby + a n other with rob burrow as a emergency hooker if needed..

would diskin start?? probably...whoever is picked would start the game...with roby on the bench

Thats correct spud he was never the same after knee reconstruction but apparently he is in the best shape since before the injury.

He was superb in 2004 and looked every inch a world class player. To be honest though he's been nothing more than average since he did his knee in. I doubt he will play in the World Cup or play for England again unless he can massively improve his form.

So far so good on Diskin. I have been impressed with what i have seen so far in the League and the trials. He is looking like his old self and baring any injurys this season should get a crack. Lets just hope he keeps up his early season form.

Did someone menton Terry Newton? Dear God no. Him and O'Loughlin in the same team would mean penalties galore (although I recognise O'Loughlin did play well for GB last season).

Diskin, Clarke or maybe even Hudson starting as a steady eddie hooker with Roby coming off the bench.

Roby's the man. I think Clarke and Diskin are next in the pecking order.

Newton only if there's a few injuries and they are desperate.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Diskin next year when Buderus comes to Leeds - both are usually 80 minute players and I can;t think they'd watse the money for giving Buderus only 40 minutes sharing with Diskin...
