Isn't there a cap at Manly?

Yeah, Dessie Hasler's old "Manly Warringah - Premiers 1996" commeorative cap he wears to training 'for good luck' once each week...Personally signed by one of the IMMORTALS of cap fiddling - Bobby Fulton!

NO it wouldn't but, cmon mate. I'm a as big as Souths fan out there. But surely the state of the Leagues club staff and surroundings have something to do with the decisions they make.
We've had a transexual behind the bar at Souths for 100 years and then the good looken one with no teeth starts.

I doubt it. The size of the offer and the players that are around him and the future direction the cluib plans to take will be valued more than toothless trannies at the Leagues club.

Living in Maroubra and Coogee is as good as Narrabeen, Dee Why or Manly.

If Souths can match the $, there goes the environment + dollars argument.

By environment I think you'll find he means club environment. Manly = club on the way up. Souths = not sure.
Manly have made great inraods this year and after a few years ion the doldrums are marching back up. Souths have been down since 1989 (1994 looked Ok for them) but have not made any real progress since then. For a club with the juniors, there coporate backing and potential investors from famous/rich supporters they really should be doing more than they are and have. So that would be an unstable environment to head to where as Manly looks more solid.

Are Manly the new Roosters.

Kite,Kennedy, Orford, Bell and now someone is talking about Lyon.

Isn't there a cap at Manly?

i am suprised that no one has mentioned a rumour that orford glimpsed at easts leagues club as he drove to south sydney and now the roosters are offering money

Anywho, very interesting, after assuring Michael monaghan that they were nto after orford they come out and say they now want him..................

I would not blame Monnas for asking for a release if he wanted one !

Geyer HATES kicking. We won it off his boot because it was right in front, penalty try remember? His kicking rate that year was only 68% IIRC and you can CMIIW. He may have gotten the award for highest points scored but that's because we scored a hell of a lot of penalties and tries but plenty of those didn't get converted.

Greg Inglis should get the kicking job because he was also the Devils' kicker when he was there, alternating with several others.

I was wrong, he didn't kick 68%. He kicked 81/132 goals in 1999 making it 61.36%. Even worse than most established kickers.

Oh please. Same s***, different bucket.

Completely different.

Souths revolving door coaches are "same sh*t, different bucket.

Bell and Orford would boost Manly's team significantly.

Geyer is a good idea, he did win GF 99 for us off his boot.

kevin Hardwick could have kicked that goal! Geyer is a capable kicker, but in the 60s as a %age.
IT was straight in front after a penalty try to Craig Smith.

IMO, money could of been better spent at another position given I think Monaghan is doing a fine job for the Manly Sea Eagles this season.

In saying that, this is a representative class halfback, if they are interested, you are silly not to give them some sort of offer that may entice them to your team.

With Orford's family on the Coast, Manly a decent team, the lifestyle of say Narabeen, this is an offer Orford will find hard to pass up.

droid...you cant be serious. Monas is not doing a fine job with the eagles. He would have to be in the bottom5 halfbacks in the comp and will never lead them to october.
Manly need a class halfback and that man is orford.

I am serious, I think he has been fine. They do sit 4th on the ladder Charlie, and he has been a big part in that with BK, Woolmough and Menzies. Whilst he is not a classic style halfback that reaps media attention, he is effective for Manly.

IMO, he is an underrated half and with more work on his kicking in general play, could really improve and be mentioned in the top echelon in the NRL.

You're kidding Misty. Have you BEEN to the beaches mentioned. As much as I don't like Manly (the footy team) you have to admit the area is sensational.
At Coogee or Maroubra you're likely to just get robbed.

they are sitting 4th yes, but me thinks that honeymoon period is over and now it comes down to the crunch time with 9 rounds left.
Monas and manly have a massive july/august and it will define their season.
Manly will get their man in Orford.

It looks very much like he (Orford) will be in Manly, not disputing that.

Though IMO they were better served perhaps making another play for Jamie Lyon or an outside back of any substance that can strike fear into the opposing backline. With the exception of Brett Stewart (though he is up and down a little) Hill, Matai, Alberts or Stephenson do not exactly have that ability.

Each to their own, I not really fussed, it's not Brisbane, I couldn't care less if they do or don't get "their man" :)
